About us
Shut Up & Write! is a global community that empowers writers to overcome procrastination, silence their inner critic, and make consistent progress on their projects. Our events provide a structured and focused environment where writers can come together, set aside distractions, and achieve their writing goals.
What to Expect
Our events use our proven formula: a few minutes of introductions, a period of focused writing, and a final check-in to share our progress. Once you arrive, our host will lead introductions, and then everyone will write for a quiet, focused period of time. Afterward, we’ll have an optional time to chat and get to know each other. Our events are a safe space for writers to work on their craft. No one will read or critique your writing.

Join us for an hour (or more) of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 6pm on Tuesday Evenings.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff (we've even had people write computer programming code), you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.SCHEDULE:
6:05 - Quick introductions
6:15 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
7:15 - One last little check in, then the End.OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens afterwards, or just keep writing. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
The early bird gets the best seat, but BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, and feel free to check-in with me/the host after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you at Sisters' Sludge!
Please thank our hosts by purchasing something.Misc
