What we’re about
Sheffield IVC is a friendly and informal social club offering a wide variety of social, cultural and sporting events. Please note the following points before you join.
1. Prospective members are allowed to attend 3 events after which we will request a yearly fee of £10. The fee may be reduced if your first event was late in the membership year.
2. Upon joining, prospective members should upload a profile picture to their account if they have not already done so. This assists the event host in identifying and welcoming you. Failure to upload a profile photo may result in membership being declined or withdrawn.
3. If you have booked onto an event and subsequently find that you cannot attend you should please change your RSVP as soon as possible, whether you are on the event or the waitlist. If something unforeseen happens on the day please message the event host or leave a comment. Failure to do so will mean you will be classed as a "No show". The club reserves the right to withdraw membership should any member incur three "No Shows" with no reason.
4. Wherever practically possible most of our hosts manage waitlists to ensure that the first on the waitlist is the first to get any place that arises on an event regardless of Meetup status (priority or otherwise).
5. Please respect the event hosts. They are volunteers and give their time and organisation freely for the enjoyment of members. The host(s) has/have final say over numbers on events, venues etc.
6. Sheffield IVC is affiliated to the Association of Intervarsity Clubs. A website is currently under construction to let members know of national events and details will be provided in due course.
