About us
We are a social walking club based in Sheffield aimed at people in their 20s and 30s. The group has been around since July 2002 and has been growing steadily ever since – currently we have around 200 members! We are part of the Ramblers, Britain's largest walking charity.
We're always on the lookout for new members, so please book on to a walk or social, or come along to one of our monthly New Members' Nights.

Being a Ramblers affiliated group we encourage our participants to join the Ramblers Association. This allows you to attend our great weekends away and get other Ramblers benefits. It also helps support the great work that Ramblers do to keep the countryside open to all and to fight for the things that matter most to walkers. We have walks of varying lengths every weekend in the Peak District or the South Yorkshire countryside.
We have an active Socials programme ranging from meals out and cinema trips to dancing and pool championships, not to mention a Easter Egg, Pub Hunt and a Christmas Party every year. There's something for everyone!
We organise weekends away to beautiful locations across the UK such as Snowdonia, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. They're a great opportunity to see some of the most picturesque parts of the country and take a break from work and the city for a very reasonable price.
We’re a Ramblers group run by volunteers who we rely on to keep it going. There are lots of ways to get involved, so if you’d like to lead a walk, organise a social or join the committee, we’d love to hear from you!

A trip to tick off some Ethels up on Shatton Moor and Durham Edge, where we’ll see lovely views (weather permitting) from one of the quieter areas of the Peaks. A good chunk of this walk is on public byways, so aside from the of ascent at the beginning, expect easier going walking for the most part.We’ll stop for lunch somewhere on the route so please make sure to bring lunch with you, and consider something to sit on.
Once we’re back we’ll head to The Wild Kettle Cafe at the garden centre for a post-walk treat.

272 bus leaves Sheffield Interchange at 09:36 and arrives at the Bamford bus turnaround at 10:29. No trains due to engineering works. Full description:
This walk is tribute to the vernal equinox on Mar 20. This is a circular walk visiting 2 stone circles Nine Ladies and Nine Stones Close.
Starting in Bakewell head south to Alport, a bit west along a potentially muddy path by the river before up to Harthill moor. Then (access permitting) we visit the 4 standing stones at Nine stone close before heading to robin hoods stride for lunch. Then East via Birchover to Stanton moor and Nine lady's stone circle. Then drop down to Stanton and back to Bakewell.
This walk is also tribute to Miranda's evening solstice walk.And the peculiar thing is this, my friends:
The walk we walked on that fateful night: it didn't actually sound anything like this walk.Please note this will be a muddy or boggy walk (requiring sturdy walking boots).

The 218 bus leaves Sheffield 09:40 arrive 10:40. Walk will wait for bus but not late cars, allow time to park and pay etc.

Is your walk dog friendly?: NoFull description: A walk up Cave Dale, up to Mam Tor, along the great ridge and back to castleton.
Cave dale is very rocky and fairly steep, so sturdy walking boots is a must!.
This walk will be weather dependent.Public transport or car sharing options: 8.30 bus from sheffield interchange. Car parks at the visitor centre/on street. This is pay and display, so please share the cost if car sharing.
