Valkey September 2026 meetup

How do you move a megabyte between two hosts in under 100 microseconds? This number has mostly been aspirational until recently, but now you can get it without the caveat of "only for small items." Removing this caveat is crucial for KV Caching!
Getting here takes more than a single trick. This talk dives into Copy Avoidance in Valkey 9, the network layer (EFA, Placement Groups), and RDMA.
We will share reproducible benchmarks, the gnarly problems still ahead, and why Valkey is the most fun infrastructure work in open source right now.
