Some Group Guidelines
• There are annual fees associated with joining this group. More information is available before joining. You can message me before joining if you want the details. Dues collected will be used to offset the costs associated with Meetup. Any residual funds will be used for group activities and events. Not sure that this group is a good fit for you? No worries. New members will enjoy a free trial period before payment is required for participation.
• We believe games should be accessible and costs should not be prohibitive. However, please be aware that there is the possibility that some games may be pay-to-play. There is also the possibility of additional fees associated with some activities or venues (cover/table fees). Any pay-to-play or venue fees will be clearly stated upfront in the event details.
• We respect that we all bring something different to the table. It would be so limiting if we all thought the same way and shared the same experiences. We want to celebrate player diversity. All are welcome regardless of color, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodivergence, or religion. Harassment of any kind or other inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
• This group will be organizing activities and events primarily for adults. Unless an activity or event specifically references “family-friendly” or other age-related information, assume it’s an adult-only activity or event. Child care will not be provided.
• We practice kindness and courtesy. Please remember to update your RSVPs if your plans change. Repeated No Shows will target you for being removed from our group. We understand that sometimes things happen. Life gets busy and messy. That is not an excuse to be inconsiderate. Please discuss attendance expectations with the GM before beginning an ongoing campaign.

Notes from the GM:
Character creation:
Investigators are normal people living a relatively normal life, until they get caught up in investigating the darkness of our world. Your characters are more like the stars of John Carpenter's The Thing than the heroes of high fantasy. They are competent, but only human. And death and madness lie in wait.
Investigators for this scenario are not Innsmouth locals and need a reason to join a manhunt. New characters may believe in ghosts or spirits, but they may not have firsthand experience with anything supernatural.
Recommend professionals include Federal Agents or law enforcement. Alternatively, you could play a reporter, a bounty hunter, or any previous investigator from my other open plays, but you will need to convince the feds to let you enter Innsmouth.
Pregenerated characters will be provided. All are federal agents.
New characters should be created using standard character creation rules or the point-buy system. Use either the D'Hole House website or Call of Cthulhu 7th edition rule books. Use the provided links below to walk you through the process. All new characters need to be sent to me by the Sunday before to be checked and reviewed.
If you have any questions, please message Garult on Discord or post in the Call of Cthulhu channel of the Salem TTRPG Discord. Please allow up to 2 business days for a response.
