What we’re about
Would you would like to go to classical and orchestral performances with others like you? You have found the right Meetup group.
Join us to attend concerts with a variety of orchestras, chamber music groups, vocal ensembles, university music programs, opera and more. (Did you know that in addition to our world class St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, there are 14 other orchestras performing regularly in the area?). Many of the concerts we attend are free to attend. And we often have a social gathering as part of our Meetup events. Whether you are new to classical music or a trained musician, you will be comfortable and enjoy our group.
Membership in the Symphony Meetup of St. Louis costs $5 per year, after a 60 day free trial, to offset the costs of the Meetup. We typically organize 25 to 35 events per year for members to choose from to participate. You can review past events and future schedules here on our Meetup pages. Join us for a musical adventure.

The Perseid String Quartet - lunch and museum tour -- Kemper Art Museum
Kemper Art Museum, Washington University in St. Louis One Brookings Drive, Saint Louis, MO, USLet's have a fun Friday daytime experience on campus at Washington University at the Kemper Museum of Art.
Let's meet when the coffee shop in the museum opens for an early lunch at 11:00 to have some social time and enjoy some savory deli sandwiches from Parker’s Table, or pastries from Colleen’s, and perhaps an ice cream sandwich. Or just have coffee.
Presented alongside "Making Their Mark" at the Kemper, this program celebrates women's creative voices. The Perseid Quartet highlights female composers from the classical to the contemporary, weaving a legacy of resilience in the face of artistic and societal barriers. The hour-long concert is totally free and open to the public right in the museum.
And then, after the concert, the WashU Music Department will organize a guided tour of the museum for our group. The architecture and interior design of the building, as well as the artwork collections, are all notable.
Afterward, those interested can adjourn to the coffee shop (Coffee Stamp) in nearby Hillman Hall on campus for a good gab.
Since it is a school day, there is paid parking in the underground garages on campus near the Kemper Museum.
The Museum admission and the concert and tour are all totally free. You are responsible for your own lunch tab.
This 'secret parking tip' was offered to us: "sometimes the signs as you enter the garage underneath the Kemper say 'FULL' - but often the garage is not actually full and you can still find parking." It appears that it will cost $5 or less to park in the underground garage near the Kemper Museum (which is called the East End Garage). Here is a link to all the on campus parking info for visitors including a map. I strongly suggest you check the East End Garage first. There is no free visitors parking except on surrounding streets.

Aram Khachaturian Piano Concerto
Igor Stravinsky The FirebirdImmerse yourself in the eccentric, captivating sounds of Russian folk music. Music Director Stéphane Denève leads the SLSO in Stravinsky’s complete score to The Firebird, a 1910 ballet that revolutionized orchestral music while reimagining an age-old fairy tale. Adding charge to this electric program is Jean-Yves Thibaudet, who returns to the SLSO to perform Khachaturian’s Piano Concerto, a shimmering showpiece inspired by Armenian and Russian folk tunes.
