More than 10% of the population has some kind of impediment that affects their access to websites or applications and this number tends to increase with the older population having longer life expectancies. π§ How We Replaced Our Experts With AI, and What Broke with Fariz Bashirov
Β·OnlineOnlineπ Nearly every product team has been asked to put AI to work where a skilled human currently does the job. The obvious approach β interview your expert, write down what they do, build a system that copies it β is also the one most likely to fail. At Emhance we took the opposite route. First we built a research service good enough that King, Zynga and Supercell trusted us with their games. Then we spent several months automating our own researchers, one task at a time, with those researchers as our harshest and frequently furious users. Turnaround went from weeks to days. I'll cover what worked, what broke, and the part the title gets wrong β because we didn't fully replace our experts, and where we deliberately kept them turned out to be the most important decision we made. You'll leave with: five laws for automating expert work, a decomposition method you can apply to your own workflow, and an honest account of everything we got wrong along the way. Who it's for: product leaders putting AI into workflows where quality is judged by an expert, not a metric.
