What we’re about
Trivia CA is Chris O'Brien, an independent trivia host who writes every single question himself and hosts (almost) every game he writes, primarily in the Berkeley area.
Trivia games with Trivia CA are never ticketed, always free-to-play, and there are always prizes to the top teams!
We believe a good trivia night brings people together and brings them closer--and not just physically. Our games are designed to inspire conversation, encourage deeper bonds, and through friendly competition, foster community. Our trivia games are welcoming, friendly, and fun!
The standard Trivia CA game features 6 rounds and 60 questions of general knowledge trivia--a mix of topics, ranging in difficulty, including a picture round and a music clue round.
While Chris always makes serious efforts to include a wide range of topics in each game, the Trivia CA style leans toward current events and pop culture, popular media of the last 25 years, and the odd and unexpected places where old overlaps with new, niche intersects with the mainstream, and the intellectual collides with terminally online brainrot.
Currently, Trivia CA hosts Wednesday Night Trivia, every week starting right at 7pm at Bobby G's Pizzeria on University in Berkeley and Thirsty Thursday Trivia, every Thursday night at The BreakRoom starting at 7pm on Shattuck in Berkeley!
On the 1st Monday of each month, Trivia CA is bringing special THEME trivia nights to Raleigh's Pub on Telegraph, just off the Cal campus. Up next is Taylor Swift Trivia on Monday October 6th at 7pm!
On the 3rd Monday of each month, Raleigh's will also host Trivia CA's standard game of classic team trivia, right at 7pm, just like all our current games!
Once per month (usually the 2nd Tuesday), we'll be running a special theme game at Bobby G's Pizzeria! Up next on September 30th is Bob's Burgers trivia night starting at 7pm!

Because prep and presenting the game is so consuming, I am not able to organize or manage teams for group members. I'd like this group and its events to be a way for members to connect and plan ahead to meet up and play together. Please always feel free to bring as many non-member friends as you'd like to each game--keeping in mind I typically have a soft team size limit of 7 players to a team.

- 2nd* Tuesday each month: Theme trivia @ Bobby G's Pizzeria (9/30 Bob's Burgers)

We’ll be covering information from every season in this game (plus the movie!), squeezing as many memorable moments as we can into six rounds and over fifty clues!
Like all our special theme games, every question will be based on information found within the runtime of episodes of the show. The more challenging questions may ask for things only seen or heard during the opening sequence or during the end credits, but we’ll never ask any questions about things you couldn’t know simply by watching and paying attention!
So, get your spatula ready, work out those yips, and bring along the whole family—Teddy too!—for this fun night of trivia all about one of the most iconic cartoons of all time, Bob’s Burgers.
