This group is operated by The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission June 30, 2021. The mission of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County, Youth & Countywide Sports Division's, Health & Wellness Team is to create healthy communities through people, parks, and programs by offering family-oriented and culturally informed health, nutrition and exercise programs, and educational opportunities that work together to improve the quality of life for all Prince George’s County residents.
The Department of Parks and Recreation is pleased to offer a variety of fun and FREE health and wellness programs to Prince George’s County residents in order to improve the health and wellness of our community!

Pause the rush of your week and reconnect through movement at Dance, Decompress and De-Stress, a calming, judgment-free dance workshop created to help release stress, quiet the mind, and restore emotional balance through guided breathwork, gentle stretching, and expressive movement. No dance experience is necessary, just a willingness to move, breathe, and be present. Join us for an uplifting evening of dance, music, mindfulness, and self-care during Mental Health Awareness Week. Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle, and are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early to settle in. Ages 18 & up; FREE

Mental Health Awareness Week
Mental health is vital to our overall well-being, yet it is often overlooked or stigmatized. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than one in five people in the U.S. live with a mental illness. Join us as we observe Mental Health Awareness Week between October 4-10, 2026. Learn about mental health resources in Prince George’s County and gain knowledge on how to take care of your mental well-being through FREE workshops, trainings, and fitness classes.
