Nos sessions seront informelles et dépendront de l'initiative, de la créativité et de la curiosité de chaque participant. The meetings are NOT FRENCH CLASSES, they are an opportunity for French conversations. In order to benefit, participants need to be able to hold at least a basic French conversation.
It is hard to notably improve one's French with only a monthly 90 minute meeting... but, I have consistently seen that our participants gain something more important... CONFIDENCE speaking French, MOTIVATION to learn more French and INSPIRATION to speak more French. Motivated participants then typically find additional/multiple ways/resources to work persistently on the nuts and bolts of their French!
Nos membres sont merveilleusement disciplinés quand il s'agit de ne pas parler anglais.
Francophones and stronger speakers are encouraged to share their French language skills. Those needing a helping hand are encouraged to actively seek a helping hand.
Our format is to break into individual vitual subgroups of FOUR people for French CONVERSATION. I mix the subgroups periodically during the meetings. Mixing the subgroups reinvigorates the CONVERSATIONS. NOUS ÉVITONS D'AVOIR UNE GRANDE GROUPE UNIQUE, CAR CELA CRÉE UNE AMBIANCE DOULOUREUSE ET INEFFICACE POUR LES PERSONNES QUI PARLENT LE FRANÇAIS MOINS FORT.

I know it is actually hard to participate in a new group for the first time... mais... les gens de langue sont des gens sympas ! Un nouveau membre m'a dit avec surprise... "Oh... vos membres sont tout à fait normaux !!" :) :)
I know is is hard to find the time to participate... but consider it as a gift to yourself! A ninety minute gift that you surely deserve!
The number of people all accross Canada having interest in, knowledge of and good-will towards the French language has been impressive! Hopefully this MeetUp group can be a place to express and give value to all that interest and good will, while at the same time be a place where neighbours can get to know neighbours.
I hope you will join us to share/celebrate/grow your French CONVERSATION, have fun, and meet great new people!
