    Data, AI & Observability Meetup

Cloudera India, Ascendas, CSIR Rd, Chennai, Ta, IN

We’re excited to announce the first OpenSearch Chennai Meetup of 2026 – Data, AI & Observability!

This event is organized in collaboration with Future of Data: Chennai.

Join us for an engaging community gathering where we’ll explore the world of search, data platforms, and observability, and see how OpenSearch powers modern applications at scale.

This meetup is a great opportunity to exchange ideas, explore emerging trends, and meet people building modern data and AI systems.

    Talks:

    1. Search Relevance Engineering: Why Your Search Results Are Wrong

Speaker: Syed Jafer K - Full Stack Developer at Bosch

Have you ever searched for something and the results felt completely wrong, even though the correct answer exists? Building a search system is not just about finding information, it is about showing the most useful result first.

In this talk, we will explore why search results often go wrong and how engineers improve them. Using simple examples, we will see how search engines decide which results appear at the top and how small tweaks like understanding synonyms, giving importance to certain fields, or interpreting user intent can dramatically improve search quality.

    2. Trust, but Verify: Why Your GenAI Needs a Performance Review

Speaker: Vish Rajagopalan - Senior Field Specialist - Data Services & AI Cloudera

Everyone is building AI, but few are measuring it correctly. We’ll discuss why evaluations are the secret sauce of successful GenAI projects and how to build a governance framework that scales.

    3. Building Resilient OpenSearch Clusters with Cross-Cluster Replication

Speaker: Suraj D DevOps Engineer at ADP India

Modern applications depend heavily on search infrastructure, and reliability is critical. In this talk, we’ll explore how cross-cluster replication in Amazon OpenSearch can help build more resilient and fault-tolerant search systems.

We’ll look at practical strategies used in real environments to replicate data across clusters for high availability and disaster recovery.

The session will also cover different approaches for older and newer OpenSearch/Elasticsearch-compatible versions, helping teams design replication strategies that work in production.

If you're running OpenSearch in AWS or planning a reliable search architecture, this talk will give you practical insights and real-world learnings.

    4. AI Agents for Kubernetes

Speaker : Shruthi Murugesh - Solution Architect at SQ1

Managing Kubernetes can be complex and time-consuming. What if intelligent AI agents could help simplify it? In this talk, we’ll explore how AI agents can assist with Kubernetes operations by automating tasks like deployment, scaling, and monitoring. Learn how these intelligent systems can make managing applications on Kubernetes more efficient, reliable, and easier for developers and platform teams
