What we’re about
Open Coffee is a friendly informal networking event for entrepreneurs, professionals, expats, people in the startup community, and students in Lisbon. You may find a mentor, investor, client, co founder, employer, vendor, inspiration or a friend.
We meet at 9:30 sharp. Everybody gets 1-2 minutes to present:
- Who they are and what they are doing
- What they want
- How they can help others
After about an hour we stop hosting and you can talk to people who are most interesting to you.
We are focused on business and social entrepreneurs, the startup community and anyone else who is doing something interesting or wants to get involved in other people's projects. You can talk about any project/topic.
Open Coffee Lisbon is an “un-meeting” without a speaker or agenda. We are focused on attendees gaining value from other attendees. The rules, tools, structure and moderation aim to facilitate this goal.
What is the BIG idea behind Open Coffee? We want to help people create useful business connections. Everyone is welcome to our meetings, and we especially love first-timers. We want to make sure that if somebody coming from an unsupportive background/country has the courage to join, they will notice that we are glad they came because we welcome them. If you feel shy, you can also just listen but we encourage you to talk. 💭

This event is was founded by Richard Lucas, supported by Olga Kirillova, Renato Carbone, Giselle Cornejo and others.

Christmas Party and Singalong

It will be hosted by Richard, Jason and Wolfie, together with our amazing team of volunteers.
This event will have secular Christmas sing-a-long Karaoke Singing in groups in one of the oldest ways of bringing people together, going back many thousands of years. This Xmas Sing along for people of any religion, or none.

Each event creates new bonds between newcomers to Lisbon and those who have been here for a while in a simple, fun, yet effective way.
Our "introvert friendly" events are open and welcoming to people from all backgrounds. You will be surprised to see how many different nationalities come together at these events.
As well as our regular integration activities and games, we are going to try to do a secular Xmas Sing along for people of any religion, or none.
Please dress in a X-mas fashion, We will aim to have some activities focussed on Christmas spirit.
EVENT STRUCTURE:
We have structured icebreakers aimed at making things easy for shy people to meet one another. Then participants are welcome to hang out and socialise as they wish after the structured part of the meeting is over.

VOLUNTEERS
We need volunteers to help us develop this and other projects. From simple things like being early to welcome people, through to PR and graphic design and a website. Let us know if that sounds like you and apply to join the team here We aim to be a local community of internationally minded people in the heart of Lisbon. You are welcome to be a part of it.
