What we’re about
I'm looking to make this a regular get together for both new hikers and experienced hikers alike. The main benefit of this group is that all hikes will be easily accessible by transit or by signing up for carpooling. This group makes it easy to meet new people, and we have lots of friendly, social conversations and chat on our hikes. Whether you're looking to join us for a specific event, or to be a reoccurring attendee to make new friends, this group is for you!
Event Difficulty Ratings: (Viewable in the Event Descriptions)

Organizer Recommendations:
*Each organizer runs their events differently, below is a general guideline of what they do.
*For up to date information, including the difficulty of each event and what hiking equipment to bring, always check each Event Description.
*Our group tends to run larger event sizes which can be slow for some people, and includes waiting for slower hikers to catch up to us. Match the different organizer's event difficulty, group size, group speed, and leadership style to your experience level and temperament.

Maximum 3 No-Shows:
1 After 3 no-shows → removal from group
2 Attendees who consistently change their RSVP's to not going
in a roughly: 1 (going) to 4 (not going) ratio → counted as a no-show
3 Saying you can drive attendees, and then changing your RSVP to not going → removal from group (increases confusion, increases no-shows of members)
4 Attendees who post in the comments, but then don't go out to the event, or Waitlisted attendees who come out to events → counted as a no-show (spam / uninvited)
5 We don't cancel events due to weather unless the organizer feels there's a safety risk. We go regardless of sun/rain/light snow. Asking if the event is cancelled in the comments section, when the event hasn't been cancelled, or no comment regarding cancellation has been made by the organizer → counted as a no-show (increases no-shows of members)
Group Safety:
*Event Descriptions are updated for every event. They'll let you know if you need to pack more, or if you can pack less. This benefits you to know.
*Read the Event Description to see what you need to bring to each Event.
*Different Event Hosts can enforce different rules more strictly or not at all depending on what they feel comfortable with, and depending on the difficulty of the Event.
*Always bring up any safety concerns for you or others to the Event Host.
Finally, we look forward to seeing you on the trails, and at some of our optional after-events for food, coffee, drinks, and chat!

Kennedy Falls: Intermediate
Mountain Hwy Parking, 4753-4757 Mountain Hwy, North Vancouver, BC, CAKennedy Falls is a picturesque waterfall which is often considered to be the most impressive on the North Shore. It is particularly lively during snowmelt in the later spring, with May usually being the best month to visit. This route also passes by Big Cedar, a popular landmark and one of the largest remaining old growth trees on the North Shore. The majority of this hike travels over trails which are unsanctioned and not maintained by the park. These natural trails have almost no man-made alterations and a few technical sections may require scrambling or the use of hands. Numerous creeks without bridges must also be crossed on foot, often through rushing water, while cautiously stepping across rocks.
*If parking is full, park alongside Mountain Highway and walk up to Mountain Hwy Parking.
*Before pressing “Attend” please be certain you'll attend. In the case of 3 "No-Shows" or 3 "Not Going", attendees may be removed from the group.
