What we’re about
I'm looking to make this a regular get together for both new hikers and experienced hikers alike. The main benefit of this group is that all hikes will be easily accessible by transit or by signing up for carpooling. This group makes it easy to meet new people, and we have lots of friendly, social conversations and chat on our hikes. Whether you're looking to join us for a specific event, or to be a reoccurring attendee to make new friends, this group is for you!
Maximum 3 No-Shows:
After 3 no-shows/3 RSVP not going → removal from the group.
Only press attend if you know you can attend. Photos can be uploaded to the event by members afterwards, and can be found at the bottom of each event after the hike (just like all prior event's photos).

See all- Quarry Rock Hike: Full 'strawberry moon' to illuminate Metro Vancouver skiesDeep Cove, Vancouver, BC
The June moon, commonly known as the strawberry full moon, takes place on Wednesday, June 11. Last year, the moon was full on the same day as the summer solstice, meaning the sun was at its highest point in the sky, and the moon appeared at its lowest.
The moon will be at its fullest on June 11 at 12:43 a.m.,
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the June moon got its name "from the Algonquin tribes who knew it as a signal to gather the ripening fruit of wild strawberries." It notes Indigenous peoples would give distinctive names to each reoccurring full moon to mark the change of seasons.
June's full moon is also known as the Honey Moon, Mead Moon, and the Full Rose Moon in Europe.
The moon will be visible provided the Metro Vancouver weather forecast doesn't call for rain.Check out this 3.9-km out-and-back trail near North Vancouver, British Columbia. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 23 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas. The Quarry Rock Lookout features beautiful views of Burrard Inlet and is consistently one of the most popular hiking destinations on the North Shore. Although many different trails lead to the lookout, this route beginning from Deep Cove along the Baden Powell Trail is by far the most popular. This scenic trail offers great variety with a mix of slightly rougher terrain, numerous bridges, long boardwalks, and moderately steep staircases. Trail maintenance is consistently impressive, with assistance features which include anti-slip foot grips and handrails on bridges and staircases. This safe trail is a great choice for newer hikers, and while some may find the steeper sections slightly challenging, most will likely feel quite comfortable on this hike

- Squamish~Four Lakes, Mashiter and Jack’s Loop: IntermediateAlice Lake Provincial Park- Parking lot , Squamish, BC
About the hike:
Discover this 7.7-mile (12.4 km) loop trail located near Squamish, British Columbia. Considered a moderately difficult route, it typically takes around 4 hours to complete. The trail is popular for a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking, and skiing. Despite its versatility, it’s not overly crowded, offering a peaceful experience for most visitors. Open year-round, this trail showcases its natural beauty in every season. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a leash, and some segments have pet restrictions.
The loop winds through Alice Lake Provincial Park, connecting Four Lakes, Mashiter, and Jack’s Trails. It starts from the Stump Lake access trailhead, where parking is limited—especially on snowy days—so arriving early is recommended. Along the route, you’ll pass by picnic areas, campsites, benches, and lakeside beaches—perfect spots to take a break, enjoy a snack, and admire the scenery. Expect stunning views of snow-covered peaks, glassy water reflections, and abundant wildlife.
Alice Lake itself is a hub for recreation, ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, or birdwatching. The three smaller lakes along the route offer good fishing opportunities. Be aware that certain sections of the trail around Alice Lake restrict dog access, so it’s best to avoid those areas if you’re hiking with your pet.
This is a true multi-use trail, welcoming not only hikers and mountain bikers, but also trail runners, snowshoers, and skiers depending on the season. The varied terrain makes it especially appealing to mountain bikers and anyone looking for a bit of a challenge, both on wheels and on foot.
