North Jersey Bowling, Volleyball, Tennis & More

About us

We've enjoyed bowling, volleyball, tennis and more with awesome people in North Jersey since May 2024.

We try to organize 3-5 events per month. Most of what we do is considered active recreation. All activities will come with their own set of details.

Many who choose to participate are playing for the first time ever or in years. Most do not participate in a league or partake in the various activities multiple times a week. However, it's perfectly fine if you do.

We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities!! We're not here to analyze your form or skills. We're here to hang out and enjoy some friendly competition. Over time, we've begun to see a lot of familiar faces, and hope you've noticed them too.

We have few rules and no real structure. You just show up whenever and have a good time. Oftentimes, you don't even have to do anything in advance of the event. And a lot of what we do is free, or at most like $30.

Of course, you pay for your own bowling games and table tennis hours. Volleyball and traditional tennis are outside and free. Food and drinks can be purchased at the alleys and table tennis facility, but for the other ones, you can BYO if you have an interest.

Somedays, we may have to wait until lanes or courts free up. It's certainly possible, we may have to relocate or cancel if others are using them upon arrival. Please keep that in mind if you're traveling from far away.

Bowling Night - North Jersey

Fri, Nov 6 · 7:30 PM EST

Montvale Lanes, 14 West Grand Avenue, Montvale, NJ, US

This is an event for casual bowling at Montvale Lanes, 14 W. Grand Ave. All are welcome for two games, food and drinks, and any post- or pre-game hang out. Show up anytime! Questions or comments? You can message Andy Milone on Meetup, or call/text him at 201-234-9609.

*** Before bowling, we might stop by the Pizza Parlour, 6 S. Kinderkamack Road in Montvale, for a few slices. Post a comment on the event page to gauge interest. After bowling, we'll definitely be heading to The Ridge Diner, 125 Kinderkamack Road in Park Ridge, at 10:15 p.m. for some food and/or drinks. ***

About the group: People of all ages, backgrounds and abilities are welcome! We're not professionals and we're not in a league. In fact, we're a group of people who probably each won't score more than 100 points and will land more than our fair share of gutter balls. There's no pressure at all!!!! We're not here to analyze your form or technique.

More event details: You pay for your own games, food and drinks. Please bring cash. The alley does not accept card. But there is an ATM on site. The cost per player is $18 for two games and bowling shoes. If you have your own shoes, the cost is $12. Please try to bring exact change since Andy will have a limited amount of cash. If you bring a $20 bill and he doesn't have change, any remainder would just go toward the bowling alley tip.

Food and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are available on site, plus tables and an alley bar to hang at during the event. There is a dart board and a few arcade games, as well.

What do you do when you get there? Find the group inside around the front desk. Look for a growing group of people! Call or text Andy Milone at 201-234-9609 if you can't find us. Once Andy secures the lanes, please pay him before getting your bowling shoes and heading to the lanes.

Please know that it is possible we have to wait 20-40 minutes until lane(s) free up. It's also possible that we may have to relocate or cancel that night if there's a long wait list upon arrival. Please keep that in mind if traveling from far away!

For those who don't have cars or are looking to avoid driving, the Montvale Train Station is only like a five-minute walk from the bowling alley and can be reached via the Pascack Valley Line. Last train leaves at 12:20 a.m. and heads toward Hoboken. (https://gmtma.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/rail_system_map.jpg)
