A Newbury based group walking in local areas.
Upcoming walks in planning for North Hampshire, Bagnor & Snelsmore Common, Kintbury area & Coombe Gibbet area.
Key elements for me are that the start points are mostly accessible by public transport and that there is a refreshment stop for those who want it.
Suggestions for walks would be very welcome.
Other people to lead walks, or to co-lead, would be very welcome.

See all- East Garston to Court Hill circular walkThe Cafe, Lambourn, RG17 8XL
A longish walk on the Lambourn Downs and half way along we’ll reach Court Hill for refreshments (of course). Total ascent across the walk is 1082 feet.
Meeting place: Meet in the car park/forecourt of East Garston Village Hall:

Bicycles: There is a place for bicycles in one corner of the forecourt.
Start time: 09:30
Distance: 13 miles.
Time walking: 4.5+ hours approximately.
Conditions: please wear comfortable clothes and stout footwear suitable for the weather and outdoor terrain.
Refreshments: please bring water to drink and a packed lunch or snacks; we can pause along the walk as required. We plan to have refreshments in the very nice surroundings of Court Hill at the half way mark of the walk.
Risk: we walk at our own risk. Please always carry written contact details of who to contact in case of emergency.
Dogs: Welcome on lead.
Costs: £4, payable at the beginning of the walk, to help towards the cost of using Meetup software. Thank you.
