We'll start out at Mt Home Inn and take the Canopy trail down into the park. We'll take the Hillside, Fern Creek and Lost trails back up. It's a beautiful hike in the woods and lots of shade. It can be quite foggy at times, but warm on the climb up, so please bring layers. Bring water, snacks if you need them, and poles will be helpful too on this hike. There are a few tricky steps here and there where the winter weather caused some damage to the route. No dogs please.
This is not a long hike but there is a lot of climbing up on the second half, 900 feet up. So please know your own hiking level and be able to go at the very least one mile in 25 minutes, even when hiking up.
Free parking across the street from Mt Home Inn. There is an outhouse at the lot and bathrooms in the park about half way. Entrance to the park is free when you enter from this direction.
We will meet at the parking lot across the street from the Mt Home Inn. If the lot is full, please look for parking either on the side of the road, or If you drive just past the Mt Home Inn, look to the right for the big sign that says "Mt Tamalpais Watershed. Parking", and follow that little road to the right where there is another small lot.
Please be ready to go with "boots on" by 8:30 am!
