About us
Everyone has interests or expertise in something that is of value to others. Do you want to share, learn, grow, and have a good time with an interesting and fun group of people who are at the same stage of life?
We’ll foster new social connections through recreational activities, learning opportunities, or community service, primarily on weekdays.
We might gather for happy hour, explore the high desert, run the rapids, hike/bike a foothill trail, tour a manufacturing company, or plan an overnight adventure.
Bring your ideas and interests and we'll help research and organize for the group.
We’ve earned this time — let’s make the most of it!

Baby Bird Shower -- Ruth Melichar Bird Center Open House
Ruth Melichar Bird Center, 4650 N. 36th Street, Boise, ID, US***IMPORTANT UPDATE***
We underestimated the popularity of this event and need to provide some updates to prevent overwhelming the facility and the event volunteers.
- Please consider staggering your arrival time between 11 am and 2 pm on the day of the Baby Bird Shower event.
- Consider re-scheduling your visit for May 1 - Sept 1 when they are open to the public and be able to see the mammal center at same time.
- Consider re-scheduling your visit to post-June 1 when you will see the baby birds/ducklings and see how the volunteers care for them.
Did you know that our local non-profit bird center cares for nearly 200 baby birds at any given time during the spring (and around 3,000 birds throughout each year)?
Their busiest season is right around the corner. I've always wanted to visit this place, so thought that visiting during their Open House / Baby Bird Shower would be a fun, FREE, family-friendly event for us.
- Tour the facility and learn about how they help birds of all kinds;
- Meet birds of prey with the Idaho Falconers’ Association;
- Make and take your own bird feeder;
- Learn what to do if you find an injured bird;
- Learn about volunteer opportunities at the center;
- Take part in special basket raffles that directly benefit the bird center.
It wouldn’t be a shower without gifts! Help this season’s baby birds by checking out their shower registry. Bring your gift to the event to be entered in a special raffle!
