We casually banter about sometimes controversial philosophical concepts. You are encouraged to submit your own rants, disagreements, arguments, etc!
Some good things to know about the group :
1 : You are free and encouraged to email us topics at : philosophyrenegade@gmail.com
2 : We don't believe in waitlists. However many people show up, we'll figure it out.
3 : Moderation is done only lightly. The iron fist must be covered in a velvet glove.
4 : Passionate opinions need to be encouraged.
5 : Topic selection is not a democratic process. However, essentially no topic is forbidden from its proper time and place.
6 : Quality over quantity.

THE (first) AMERICAN CIVIL WAR
The Commons, 550 Laguna St, San Francisco, CA, USWelcome!
This event is going to be a bit different than our usual format. This is a tell-all event about the American Civil War (the first one!), with particular emphasis on Lincoln. I feel compelled to post this in light of recent events. There will be many materials on offer to consult.
By the way, I am an unapologetic unionist. William Tecumseh Sherman did nothing wrong! There are too many civil war buffs who are sympathizers with traitors.
This is more history than philosophy. Nevertheless, philosophy will bubble around the edges if you pay attention. If you want a "conventional" renegade event, you can just show up at about 7:30 (consult some of the material before hand) We might have a more conventional renegade follow up once my thoughts are more well collected.
