What we’re about
Our book clubs cover a range of topics and genres, and happen at different locations. Read the book and gather with your community to chat about it.
IMPORTANT: A fake email has been circulating to authors asking them to be featured in our book clubs. OCLS will never request money from anyone to feature a book in our book clubs. If you receive an email from us regarding a book club that appears suspicious, please forward it to mpr@ocls.org and we will investigate. Thank you!

•OnlineVirtual Event: Hiawassee Book Club
OnlineIn November the Hiawassee Book Club will discuss The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. When she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one in the journalism community is more astounded than Monique herself. Summoned to Evelyn's Upper East Side apartment, Monique listens as Evelyn unfurls her story: from making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the late 80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way. But as Evelyn's story catches up with the present, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Monique's own in tragic and irreversible ways.
This event occurs online through Zoom. An email will be sent before the event with more information on how to join. To receive the Zoom link, please register at the Library's website, https://attend.ocls.org/event/14341191
