A Day of Loving Kindness: A Day Retreat (Maine)
Portland New Church, 309 Stevens Ave., Portland, ME, USWith Resident Teacher Gen Khedrub
Buddha taught that love is the great protector. Genuine love protects both ourselves and others from harmful actions and suffering, and it naturally inspires us to relate to others with kindness, patience, and consideration.
But in our daily lives, our love is often mixed with attachment, which can leave us feeling possessive, anxious, or easily hurt. In this day retreat, we’ll explore Buddha’s wisdom teachings on how to recognize the difference between love and attachment, and learn practical methods to reduce attachment while deepening the strength and stability of our love.
Guided meditations are included, and light refreshments will be offered during the break. This event is ideal for both newcomers and experienced meditators.
Everyone is welcome. No previous experience needed.
