What we’re about
Welcome to the Manchester LGBTQ+ Meetup! This is a group geared towards ALL in the LGBTQ+ community. Everyone is welcome, including our fabulous allies! 🌈❤️
We try to create a safe, welcoming space for anyone who wants to get acclimated to the area, find friends with whom to enjoy social activities, and make lasting connections. If you don't have many lgbtq+ acquaintances yet, are isolated or lonely, or feel you are unable to be your true authentic self for fear of being judged by straight friends and acquaintances then you are the MVP here! If you feel comfortable to do so, please feel free to make yourself known to one of the organisers so we can make especially sure you will feel comfortable and welcomed here. Or if anyone feels nervous about coming to such a meetup, feel free to send one of the organisers a direct message via meetup, and we can discuss any reservations you may have.
This group has a zero tolerance for gatekeeping. The LGBTQ+ community includes (but is not limited to) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Asexual, Intersex, and Pansexual. We assume everyone who joins has the best intentions and will do their own research and learning. If you promote hateful opinions, this isn't the group for you.
🤝 Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to get something from this group. If you have a disability that you feel may affect your ability to attend or enjoy our meetups, we would really appreciate a direct message with your thoughts on how we can improve. At the moment we have a mix of events that are accessible or inaccessible. All events hosted by Steph-Lani are accessible. Please contact them if you have any access needs or concerns.
Where known, accessibility information is included in the event description. If you have suggestions for places where we can host an accessible Meetup, then please please get in touch with Steph-Lani or Rae!
❤️ Help and support
We created a full list of links and resources to lgbtq+ charities for anyone who is struggling or experiencing any difficulties (it's a bit outdated now though), please check them out and don't be shy to get in touch with any of them!

12:00 - 14:00 Be Part of History: Our Queer Future Consultation
In 2025, LGBT Foundation proudly marks 50 years of life-saving support, community empowerment, and relentless activism. As we conclude this milestone year, LGBT Foundation invites you to help shape Our Queer Future.
Building on 50 years of progress in LGBTQ+ rights, join us in envisioning queer hope and joy in 2050! This fun and interactive workshop will prompt you to reflect on your desired changes for LGBTQ+ equality over the next 25 years. We'll explore the future of queer healthcare, neighbourhoods, and a world without inequalities, encouraging you to share your aspirations. Your contributions will form part of a visual map of Our Queer Future, published next year!
Bring your imagination and we’ll supply the refreshments!
LGBT Foundation's 50th Anniversary is proudly supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and sponsored by Barefoot Wine. Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. 50 Years of Queer Hope and Joy is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to celebrate and share stories of LGBTQ+ communities and activism in the North West and beyond, from 1975 to the present day.
14:00 - 16:00 Festive Special
For the second half of the Café this month it'll be a festive special; with a little sparkly chaos. We'll have Christmas themed bingo, prizes to be won, and other games to be confirmed. If you have any games or ideas for what you love this time of year we'd love for you to share!
There's no forced fun here though, if you don't want to take part that's okay too.25 attendees
Kiki Board Game Family meet up @ Peaky Blinders! ʕ•̀ᴥ•́ʔっ🎲🎲
Peaky Blinders, M2 5QR, 23 Peter Street, Manchester, GBAre you a newcomer interested in boardgames but don't know where to start? Or are you an old timer with board games looking for people to play with or looking to try some new games? Or simply looking for something chill and exciting to fill your Monday evening? Well, fab! There is a weekly meetup for board games which we occasionally invade (some of us are regular attendees of the event)!
This event is suitable for inexperienced and experienced players - lots of games to choose from to suit all styles!
This event has a good number of regulars, so don't be discouraged by low numbers on the event page, people tend to only RSVP the first time!
-------------
The event is held upstairs, there is lift access
-------------
- What we normally do:
We will be at Peaky Blinders from 6:15 pm, to socialise before board games start at 6:30 pm. The event lasts typically 4 hours, however, people do come and go whenever they want!
- Who to look for:
We will be hanging around from 6:15 pm for food, drinks, and some kiki. You will find Dan there dressed in a nerdy T-shirt, if unsure ask the event's host (James) and he'll happily point you in the right direction.
- Fee:
There is a fee of £2.50 to come to this (it doesn't go to us, but to the people who hire the venue and supply the games).
-------------
This is a regular event run by the D&F Games Nights and not directly by us, however, we are a bunch of regulars (LGBTQ+ & Allies) who go weekly and think it would be really cool to have you join us! You can follow D&F Games Nights on social media:

•OnlineWe Are Alima: ✨ Resting the Mind & Senses
OnlineManchester LGBTQ+ Meetup supporting We Are Almia: Creating creative spaces for LGBTQIA+ people — especially those who are late-blooming, neurodivergent, in transition, or experiencing burnout.
Theme: Quiet the noise
The world moves fast and demands more than we can hold. This session invites you to soften the mental noise and release sensory overwhelm through gentle creative exploration.
You’ll be guided through prompts to write, draw, or move in ways that help you slow down, listen inward, and let your thoughts unfurl at their own pace.
💭 Rest Types: Mental, Sensory + Creative
What to Expect
Each 90-minute online session is an easy, spacious gathering with guided creative prompts. You can choose your medium — writing, drawing, or gentle movement — and take part however you like.
- Arrive & land – A grounding welcome with katie & kao.
- Creative exploration – Prompts inspired by one of the seven types of rest.
- Optional sharing – Space to show or speak, or simply hear from others.
- Reflection & close – A few moments to gather yourself before you go.
You can keep your camera on or off. Participation is always optional.
☕ The thread: Creative Rest
Throughout all three sessions, creative rest is our way in — not about producing or performing, but about making space for imagination, curiosity, and play.
We write, draw, and move not to impress, but to remember ourselves.
🌿 Why join
- Gentle creative guidance from katie & kao
- A calm, queer community space for connection
- A chance to explore your own version of rest
- A first look at the in-person almia sessions coming to Greater Manchester in 2026
You’ll leave with new words, small sparks of inspiration, and maybe a little more breathing room inside yourself.
