Banff Hut to Hut Glacier Backpacking and Hiking

Banff Hut to Hut Glacier Backpacking and Hiking

Sun, Aug 16, 11:00 AM
From Explorer Chicks of NYC

Join us on a Banff Canada Hiking + Hut-to-Hut Backpacking Adventure for women only! During your 6-day trip, backpack hut-to-hut in the remote backcountry of Banff National Park. Enjoy day hikes through the towering mountains and glacier fed lakes of the Canadian Rockies. This is not the maple syrup harvest your aunt went to that one time. This is Wild Canada, sister! **GUIDED HIKING IN BANFF, CANADA NATIONAL PARKS** First, spend three days hiking in and exploring nearby national and provincial parks. The town of Banff is surrounded on all sides by them, boasting some of the most beautiful landscapes that Canada offers. Experience the iconic hiking trails in the surrounding parks, the atmosphere of the quaint mountain town, and the quiet backcountry bliss amongst flanneled femmes. Day-hike to turquoise glacier fed lakes, past waterfalls, along pointed mountain ridge lines, and through luscious green valleys. Snap an iconic photo by Moraine Lake to add to your Instagram feed. You’ll feel as if you’re in a fairy tale admiring the chateau from Lake Louise. Also enjoy exploring lesser known trails as our local guides share their favorites hikes. You could be hiking to glacier fed lakes in Banff National Park, past stunning waterfalls in Yoho National Park, up and over a mountain pass in Kananaskis Country and more. **EXPLORING DOWNTOWN BANFF** Each evening, we’ll return to our downtown Banff hotel, roll on some deodorant, and head out on the town to dine as a group. In your free time, soak your beautiful bones in one of the outdoor hot tubs or curl up cat-like beside the outdoor fireplace. Buzzed storytelling is encouraged. **CANADIAN ROCKIES HUT-TO-HUT GUIDED BACKPACKING AND GLACIER CROSSING** On the final three days of your adventure, we leave behind the hustle and noise of Banff and its tourists. Load up a 70L backpack with glacier crossing gear and all of the essentials for a hut-to-hut trek across the Wapta Icefields of the Canadian Rockies. The Icefields are rolling, gentle glaciers that you will trek up and over during the course of three days. Experience first hand a rapidly disappearing mountain landscape while immersing yourself in a truly remote and unique, backcountry environment. Your destination each evening is rustic, remote alpine huts high up in mountains. There aren’t many backcountry treks that you can get the alpine trifecta—glaciers, mountains, and cozy alpine huts! **ALL MAJOR BACKPACKING AND GLACIER CROSSING GEAR PROVIDED** * 70L backpack * sleeping bag * mountaineering boots * climbing harness * climbing helmet * crampons * ice axe * ropes **See the website for full itinerary, details and to book.** [https://explorerchick.com/adventures/banff-hut-to-hut-hiking-adventure/](https://explorerchick.com/adventures/banff-hut-to-hut-hiking-adventure/) **Say Hello 👋** **💻** Website: [https://explorerchick.com/](https://explorerchick.com/) 📧 Email: [hello@explorerchick.com](http://hello@explorerchick.com/) 📸 Instagram: [https://www.instagram.com/explorerchickadventureco/](https://www.instagram.com/explorerchickadventureco/) ❤️ Facebook: [https://www.facebook.com/ExplorerChickAdventureCo/](https://www.facebook.com/ExplorerChickAdventureCo/) 👯‍♀️ Facebook Group: [https://www.facebook.com/groups/weareexplorerchick](https://www.facebook.com/groups/weareexplorerchick) 🎥 TikTok: [https://www.tiktok.com/@explorerchick](https://www.tiktok.com/@explorerchick)

Distance: approx. 8-9 miles We will do a loop hike and will have a lunch and swim on the beach of Lake Awosting. It is a clear mountain lake accessible only by foot or bicycle. Do not forget your swimwear! Also, blueberries are staying later in this park. On the way back we may visit Rainbow Falls. *(Please read the whole description including Q&A to avoid any confusion or inconvenience)* **Parking coordinates: 41.742608388379885, -74.25464642922427 (Jenny Lane Trail)** It is a comparatively small free parking space (a good reason not to be late) on the east side of the road. If there is not enough space for some of our cars they can park at the main parking lot ($10 per car) 41.735575839649144, -74.23906646694881 PLEASE, first try Jenny Lane parking so that we know if anybody parks at the main parking. In this case those who park at the main parking will wait for us there and we will go through that parking lot to meet with you *ATTENTION! PLEASE USE PARKING LOCATION COORDINATES GIVEN IN THIS DESCRIPTION ABOVE ONLY. DISREGARD ANY OTHER MAPS OR PINS.* *For those who register but do not want to stay with us the whole route I will appreciate if you let me know well ahead of time to see if the hike will happen at all*. I limit the size of the group to 10 as it is hard to care for a larger group. I will kindly ask those who register to stay with the group. Those who do not want to stay with the group are welcome to join us but, please, do not register and we consider you to be on your own. Please, be at the parking lot by 9am. Cell phone connection may be not available. Please, give yourself enough time to get there - we will get on the trail in time to be back in time and still have daylight time in reserve. **BEFORE LEAVING YOUR HOME, please, check this announcement for the last minute cancellation or changes (anything could happen and I will do my best not to waste your time)** **And if you register, please, be responsive to my messages regarding your attendance. In the case you change your mind please un-register or let us know ASAP so that we do not waste our time waiting. It is ESPECIALLY important if you are the only one registered - me and the whole trip depends on you, so please be respectful to my time also.** Bring hiking boots, at least 2 quarts of water, snack/lunch, layers, rain gear etc. *In the case you or your guests did not hike or had issues hiking before, please be considerate about your or your guests' physical shape and readiness to keep up with the group. Though un-predictable delays, even accidents, are always possible we all come to enjoy some physical activity to be on schedule and while we are all different, care for each other and stay together as a group I would like to avoid predictable unreasonable delays and slow downs.* If in doubt, feel free to contact me with your questions or concerns. FAQ: Q: Do you have a link to AllTrails? A: No. I usually plan my hikes using a map. It leaves some uncertainty and feel of adventure (otherwise it would be like eating partially digested food). If I have one I will post it in the description. Q: Do you know total accent for the hike? A: No. I plan hikes based on the length, available parking, good lunch spot or POI. Ups and downs are unavoidable. Usually it will be between 1500 and 3000 feet. Q: Is your hike still on? A: As soon as I decide to cancel the hike on any reason I will notify participants and cancel it on Meetup. That is why I ask to check this site periodically and before leaving your home. Otherwise it is still on, no matter how few people are registered. Q: What is a preferable way to communicate with you? A: Please, use preferably Meetup **EVENT** chat for communication (I just cannot monitor Meetup, Facebook, Telegram, SMS etc and I am trying to avoid answering the same questions on different platforms) On the day of the hike please call my phone (hopefully, provided that morning) as I will be driving and cannot use other ways of communications. Please have Meetup application installed on your phone as it is the only way for me to reach you if anything happens **Except of a very un-ordinary situations, no responses are provided and no calls are answered after 9pm** \-\-\-\-\-\- If you join us for hiking (or any other event), understand that you are responsible for your own preparedness and well-being and will hold no one else liable in case of injury or mishap. You agree not to hold the Organizer, Assistant Organizers, or any other members responsible for any injuries, mishaps, or any other situation that may happen at a planned event. It is your responsibility to research the event, know the area, and bring the proper gear. Your attendance on this trip signifies that you have read and accept the terms of this liability waiver

Acadia Hiking And Coastal Maine Adventure

Acadia Hiking And Coastal Maine Adventure

Sat, Aug 22, 11:00 AM
From Explorer Chicks of NYC
4.4

### Exploration, Exhilaration, And Eleanor! Get ready for non-stop whiffs of sweet pine as you hike the startingly beautiful coastlines of Maine and Acadia National Park. This 7-day women’s trip takes you far away from a world where everyone needs you… and it includes a sneaky visit into Canada. It all starts in Portland, Maine where we rendezvous, exchange bff necklaces, and hop in the SHE-nanigan Shuttle to our first hike… which is THE best hike. We’ll scale the famous iron rungs of The Beehive, peer into the crystal-clear waters of Bowl Pond, and gape at stunning shoreline cliffs as we explore Gorham Mountain and Sand Beach. Next we’ll scramble the summits of The Bubbles, eat our body weight in seafood in Bar Harbor, and spend an entire day exploring Acadia via sea kayak. Bald eagles, porpoises, otters, and seals send their love and may even pose for a photo thanks to the glorious nature freaks leading our aqua-safari. We’ll tiptoe into the quietside of Acadia, where crowds never reach. And you’ll get your unmissable photo of Somesville Bridge, dammit! At the end of each day, you’ll rest your gorgeous head at our epic Glampsite. Enjoy real beds, ensuite bathrooms, hot showers, good coffee, and the best laughs of your life. Leave the cooking and the backcountry picnics to us. When we leave our Glampsite after four nights, we’ll enjoy one more hike along the Bold Coast Trail, brimming with badass drop-offs and gorgeous views of the Bay of Maine. We’ll break for beers and battered cod in the darling seaside town of Lubec, Maine. And then we’ll whip out our passports to casually cross into Canada like it’s another Tuesday. This is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. For two nights, we’ll stay in a historic cottage and working museum inside Roosevelt Campobello International Park, the grounds where Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt’s magnificent summer home is preserved! Fangirl over Eleanor, one of the OG feminists and human rights activists, as we explore the places she called home and even enjoy afternoon tea in her honor. So much First Lady energy! We’ll sneak in a sunrise lighthouse hike and explore more of the epic shoreline of New Brunswick before our last East Coast supper. Can we change our names and stay here foreverrrr? **See the website for full itinerary, details and to book.** [https://explorerchick.com/trip/womens-acadia-hiking-and-coastal-maine-tour/](https://explorerchick.com/trip/womens-acadia-hiking-and-coastal-maine-tour/) **Say Hello 👋** **💻** Website: [https://explorerchick.com/](https://explorerchick.com/) 📧 Email: hello@explorerchick.com 📸 Instagram: [https://www.instagram.com/explorerchickadventureco/](https://www.instagram.com/explorerchickadventureco/) ❤️ Facebook: [https://www.facebook.com/ExplorerChickAdventureCo/](https://www.facebook.com/ExplorerChickAdventureCo/) 👯‍♀️ Facebook Group: [https://www.facebook.com/groups/weareexplorerchick](https://www.facebook.com/groups/weareexplorerchick) 🎥 TikTok: [https://www.tiktok.com/@explorerchick](https://www.tiktok.com/@explorerchick)
