Let’s enjoy the afternoon fishing by the Brooklyn Bay.

Come to Gravesend Bay and enjoy the afternoon learning the basics of fishing in saltwater. You will learn how to tie hooks, cast your fishing rod and reel in a fish. Bring your own fishing rod or you guys may share the 2 fishing rods I have. Please note: All Anglers fishing in saltwater must enroll in the (free) Recreational Marine Fishing Registry. You can enroll in the marine registry at www.dec.ny.gov/permits/6101.html,or call 1-866-933-2257. We will meet in front of Wheel Fun Rentals (opposite Wendy's) located at Bensonhurst Park intersection of Bay Parkway & Shore Parkway, Brooklyn. Then we will walk to the water front located west of Wheel Fun Rentals.

A relaxed morning on the Hudson

Kayak Polo (Expert Only)

CURRENTS WILL BE CHALLENGING -- EXPERT PADDLERS ONLY Check back here (and/or on Slack) before you come to make sure the session has not been cancelled. Summer storms can be hard to predict, and sometimes we need to cancel at the last minute. Our weeknight kayak polo sessions at Pier 66 typically consist of some warm-up, and some combination of basic skills drills & practice, and and informal scrimmages. The Pier 66 location, as well as the tides, currents, and waves on the river, result in conditions that can be quite challenging for beginners, so please check with the session host(s) before signing up if you are new to kayak polo and advanced kayaking (e.g., whitewater or open-water sea kayaking). We have club gear available (boats, paddles, PFDs, sprayskirts, helmets). You should bring water/paddling shoes, clothes that can get wet (no cotton) and a change for afterwards, and a towel & soap if you want to shower. Membership covers unlimited sessions during the season, or you can pay $25 per session. Your first session with our club is free, however. The event is 8:00 - 11:00. Check in starts at 7:30. You are guaranteed 1.5 hours of play. We offer doubles games and drill courts with pros. The last 20 minutes, we play our infamous "sky ball" game, or there is free play on the other courts. There are refreshments out all night, including beer, wine, chips, and dips. Tennis levels from advanced beginner and up are welcome, ages 21 and up. Games are made by level. You must know how to play. This event is not for beginners who don't know how to play a game or how to serve. The fee is $55 per person during the first week of the pre-sale. Advanced Level Paddlers - Liberty to Freedom Swim Support - 13 mile round trip

Please be flexible** \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* **Swim support - Advanced Level - 13 mile round trip** Our original and biggest swim support! We will be guiding swimmers from the WTC to Liberty Island. Right after we'll do a second round with another set of swimmers from Liberty Island to WTC. That means we will paddle for 11.5 miles without landing! 4.5 miles of this paddle will be just you paddling alone and guiding your swimmer across the Hudson River. **PREREQUISITES TO RSVP:** 1. You received an invitation to join by host or Urban Swim. Fall 2026 kick-off Dance Walk! Bring iPod & earbuds, dress light & come hands-free. It is an improvised form of walking, with music, doing whatever movement comes naturally. It's walking and moving your arms. Or skipping, skitching, low-stepping, sideways running. It's responding to the rhythm, attitude, or story of the music you're hearing. In short, it's having a dance party in your living room, while walking through the park. Some people listen to music to go running. When I listen to music, I want to dance. This meet-up is for like-inspired music-dance folks. "Dance" encompasses a wide range of physical movement on the Dance Walk--no professional creds necessary. A word to the wise: DW is \*not\* a performance, or an exhibition, but a loose container for exercise, music immersion and physical expression. Why do we each listen to our own music? Because each of us feel inspired by different tunes, and on Dance Walk, you connect from the inside-out. This is not a class with a teacher, nor is it a group jam, but something more like parallel play--a group of individuals doing their own thing, together. You need to possess the ability to move on your own, and to follow your own improvisational impulses--listening to your music, your body, nature in the park, and whatever else inspires you. We meet @10:00am, share names, cue up our tunes and usually take off within 5 minutes. A word to the shy, self-conscious, and judgy: You will have the MOST fun of all. Once you're warm and hit that flow, the negative mental static falls away. Movement comes easily, and music takes over. Take it from a deeply self-conscious person, Dance Walk is a profoundly joyful liberation. \*To find us: Enter Prospect Park at the main Grand Army Plaza entrance (NOT the side path with bike parking and water fountain).
