No Limit Hold Em! Sit & Go for 4 Free Giants Tix to start the night!

From Bay Area Poker Meetup
4.9

Hello SF Poker Community! We are giving away two (2) sets of a pair of Giants Tix for the first 10 RSVPs for our 2/3/5 NLHE game tonight (and every game going forward)! It will be a free, Turbo sit & go (around 15-30 min tops) The first person to bust out (with the worst hand as a tie-breaker) will receive a pair of Giants tix. The winner will also get two tix as well. Just a fun way to start the ring game. (\*\*Must buy into ring game to have a chance at the tix!) A little about me: I'm in SF for the next 15 months working on a new card game show...a little about me: I was the Poker teaching consultant backstage on Celebrity Poker Showdown on NBC/Bravo. I had a steady home game in NYC for years with close friends and acquaintances and friends of friends and would like to replicate it here in SF! A few perks of playing in my game: * Free Snacks & Drinks All Night * Pro Dealer (no tipping necessary), Chips, Cards * Good people, Good Poker, Good Vibes--Always * 4 Screens for Viewing Sports--Including NFL Sunday Ticket * Luxury apt, Full Security, w/Off-Street Parking Available * In Beautiful Mission Bay a Few Blocks from Oracle/Chase * You never know when you'll be playing with a Celeb/Sports figure! Why go to an impersonal card room with slow dealers and overpriced food when you can be making friends and connections with a regular crew of good people who have been vetted? (And if you're in, your referrals always take priority--So tell your friends!) In order to get in, please message me a little about you, when you can play, etc., and I will get back to you with further details. First come first served on reservations. I will allow future reservations 1 week in advance. I usually try to have a game Sunday (NFL Sundays! Golf Final Rounds, NBA Playoffs, NHL, & MLB!) and Friday but have had them on Tuesday & Thursdays as well. It's all up to when the gang can come. We usually play No Limit Hold em in the $100-1000 buy in range. D.M.A.

September’s Book: This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews

September’s Book: This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews

Sat, Sep 19, 10:00 PM
From SF Fantasy Book Club
4.9

What if you woke up inside your favorite unfinished fantasy series — and discovered the world had no intention of playing by the rules? In Ilona Andrews' wildly imaginative new novel, Maggie goes to bed in her Texas apartment and wakes up cold, naked, and starving in the grimy streets of Kair Toren — the medieval city she knows chapter and verse from the dark fantasy series she's been obsessively rereading for a decade. Her encyclopedic knowledge of the plot should be her superpower. Except the story keeps going off-script, the characters she loves can die even if she can't, and knowing how things are *supposed* to end may not be enough to stop them. Part portal fantasy, part political thriller, part slow-burn romance — *This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me* is a love letter to fantasy readers that asks some surprisingly sharp questions: What does it mean to try to save a world you only know from the page? And what happens when the fictional people you love become real? Come ready to talk about Maggie's impossible choices, the meta layers of a reader trapped in her own fandom, and whether knowledge is truly power — or just another way to be surprised.
