GUARDIANS Masks Workshop (2-Days session)

GUARDIANS Masks Workshop (2-Days session)

Fri, Jul 3, 4:00 PM
From Creative Art Workshops Berlin

šŸ“ Berlin (Kreuzberg) šŸ—“ 2 sessions (3.5h each with a pause for snacks) This is a two-day event. By booking this session, you are automatically reserving your spot for both days of the workshop! *It will be a small group: limited spots available!* **See a video of previous workshops [here](https://www.instagram.com/p/DXrmpYbjBvc/)!** Dates: **July 3 & 10 (Fridays) 6:00–9:30 PM** €115 (all materials included) šŸ‘« *Bring a friend, and both receive 10€ off.* ***Small Group only!*** *After reserve, I will send you an email to confirm your place.* **A two-session sustainable experience inspired by folk characters and traditional mask-making. You will design and create your own character mask in a hands-on and creative way.** **Guardians are masks with presence—imagined characters that accompany and bring personality to a space**. You can create a small or large mask, designed either to wear or to hang. **Day 1:** Inspiration & Mask Building *"In Japan, masks often embody transformation, character, and symbolic presence.* *In the Andes, masks connect animals, imagination, and collective storytelling (...)"* We begin with a visual introduction to mask-making across cultures, exploring how artists draw inspiration from celebrations, nature, animals, and imaginary characters to create expressive forms. You’ll bring your own idea (or choose from a selection of references) to design your Guardian character. You can choose between different formats — wearable masks or small sculptural faces for the wall — working with accessible materials such as recycled cardboard, papier-mĆ¢chĆ©, fabric, and mixed textures. **Day 2:** Painting & Finishing In the second session, we bring the characters to life through colour, texture, materials and detail. You will choose a colour palette and combine acrylic paints with acrylic markers to create different finishing effects. The workshop closes with a relaxed sharing moment, where participants can present their character and creative process. **All basic materials are included:** *cardboard, paper, paste, papier-mĆ¢chĆ©, acrylic paints, fabrics, threads, and decorative textures.* You are welcome to bring \*personal materials \* if you wish — colours, fabrics, small objects, or symbolic elements you would like to incorporate into your piece. * Where: At my studio in **10963 Kreuzberg, Berlin**. It’s a bright, sunny space ā˜€ļø I’ll send you the exact address by email after you fill out the form. It will be fun! **A bit about me** Hi! I’m Rosi Diaz Roigt a Berlin-based mask artist and graphic designer for films. My work explores nature, imagination, and sustainable materials through illustration, sculpture, and mixed media. I guide participants and motivate them to develop their own personal forms of expression! Please RSVP here and also complete the **registration form**, so I can confirm your spot and send you all workshop details. (Meetup RSVP alone may not guarantee your place.) **Previous workshops;** [www.instagram.com/p/DXrmpYbjBvc/](https://www.instagram.com/p/DXrmpYbjBvc/) [www.rosidiazroigt.myportfolio.com/](https://rosidiazroigt.myportfolio.com/)

Hello! I’m organising a coworking + socialising session for all of us who are working on projects (e.g. our own creations, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. šŸ™‚ To ensure that we have time for both socialising AND working, we will be using the so-called ā€œPomodoroā€ technique: **50 mins deep work** (silent), followed by **10 mins break** to socialise. And then repeat! You are welcome to join whatever your personal background is, and whatever project you are working on. I (the host) speak English and German, so either language is fine. ——————————————————- AGENDA: * **Short Intro** Tell us who you are and share something about what you will be working on today * **Pomodoro Session** \- 3x \(3h\) Each Pomodoro session consists of 50 mins focused ā€œdeep workā€ (no talking, no interruptions, **phones on silent mode**) -> then 10 mins break: a chance to share your progress with others -> Repeat * **15 mins Wrap Up** Celebrate what you achieved and get to know others 😊 ———— Wifi + power plugs are available - but best to bring a fully charged laptop, just in case šŸ™ƒ You **do not** have to pay anything. But since we are using the cafĆ© space, it is common courtesy to buy at least one drink (coffee costs roughly **4 Euros**).

Networking & Language Exchange - šŸ–internationalšŸ»

Networking & Language Exchange - šŸ–internationalšŸ»

From Networking and Language Exchange

This is a 3 phase meetup. You can come at any time. 1.) 6:30 - 7:00 p.m.: Gathering at the meeting spot (see link and photo!). 2.) 7:00 - 7:30 p.m.: Walk & Talk through Tiergarten. 3.) 7:30 - 10:00 p.m.: Immerse conversations in the Zollpackhof beer garden (reserved tables for the meetup). **1.) Meeting spot is Henriette Herz Park.** Copy the coordinates into your maps app: **52°30'38.9"N 13°22'24.1"E** The exact meeting spot can also be seen in the photo. Look for a meetup sign or organizer wearing a black or red lanyard with "staff" written on it. **Best ways to get there:** 1\. S\-Bahn: Get off at Potsdamer Platz by S1, S2 or S25 and walk to the designated meeting spot. 2\. U\-Bahn \(subway\): Alternatively you can get off at Potsdamer Platz by U2 and just walk 5 min straight to the park. 3\. Bus: If you change at mainstation you can take the M41 or M85 to S Potsdamer Platz /Voßstr. and walk to the park. **2.) Walk & Talk through Tiergarten** (the best part imho). During these weird times it essential to connect with nature and like minded people. You will feel instantly energized and an inner calmness afterwards. **3.) How to the find the Zollpackhof beer garden:** https://goo.gl/maps/vDYYaJcFvTmd7hei7 Elisabeth-Abegg-Straße 1, 10557 Berlin We will be sitting outside. Click the gmaps link with the exact meeting spot if you can can't find us! If you enter from the Magnus-Hirschfeld-Ufer, just go to the left part of the beer garden where the self-service is. If you enter from Elisabeth-Abegg-Str, enter the beer garden from the right. *Who is this meetup for:* 1\. Internationals who want to practice German or any other language\. 2\. Germans who want to improve their language skills\. 3\. Anyone who is interested in cultural exchange and wants to socialize\. *What you can expect:* 1\. A professionally organized meetup that can adapt to any changes given the current situation\. 2\. A Walk & Talk to break the ice\. 3\. A collaborating venue where you can further socialize with other members\. *important:* This event is at the same time and meeting location like the "Asian Languages & Culture Exchange ę—„ęœ¬čŖž, ķ•œźµģ–“, 汉语" one. So I'm basically organizing 2 events at the same time which means that you can expect way more people than on the list. *** Whenever you attend a meetup, the most common as well as first question you get is: "Where are you from?" You probably heard this question a million times. Well, at least I did. From my own experience of attending over 200 international meetups in various countries such as Germany, Japan, Australia and Thailand, I can tell you that asking for the name is a better approach. ā€œA person’s name is to that person, the sweetest, most important sound in any language.ā€ - Dale Carnegie If you really want to connect with like-minded people you should remember their name, but you don't have to remember every persons name you've talked you. Be picky about that, don't be me who can somehow remember everyones name easily. Don't tell yourself sth. like "I'm bad at remembering names." It's all about developing the habit of asking for a name and keep the conversation going on. Furthermore, you want to learn German or any other language. Learning the local language is crucial to connect with the locals and developing a true friendship. This can be accomplished with immersion. My goal is to inspire you to go out of your comfort zone and improve yourself each time you join this meetup.
