What we’re about
Everyone is welcome in this group, it is a safe space for vegans to socialise with other vegans. For us veganism is more than just a diet, it’s a way of life. If you are not vegan and come along to an event, you may be asked some uncomfortable questions.
Almost every day we are asked ‘why don’t you eat meat’. So in our space we will ask ‘why do you still eat meat’ and we will explain why animal agriculture is cruel and bad for the planet.
We also have a Whatsapp group. Everyone is welcome to join but you must attend a few events first to get to know everyone. Ask an organiser when attending an event.
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Vegan Summer Picnic in Sefton ParkSEFTON PARK, NEAR LARK LANE, Liverpool
Bring your own food and drink. Of course please keep everything vegan.
A blanket or something to sit on would be a good idea too.
Start and end time is a guide only, so feel free to join us later or leave earlier if you need to.
We will be close to the Lark Lane entrance for access to toilets and shops. I'll post more useful info (what3words, accurate map pin, etc) on the day to make it easier to find us.
It will help if you have the Meetup app to get updates, or just look out for masses of hummus & lettuce sandwiches.
If the weather turns too bad we'll plan b on to Lark Lane or something so don't be put off if there's a bit of drizzle on the forecast.
This event is completely free to attend. But if you'd like to support this community and vegan events in the city, please consider making a donation.
- Lady Lever: Jim Moir Exhibition & Nettle CafeThe Lady Lever Art Gallery, Wirral
Join us for a relaxed cultural afternoon as we visit the Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight to see 'Dawn to Dusk Birds', a beautiful and whimsical exhibition by Jim Moir (also known as Vic Reeves of Reeves and Mortimer fame!). Moir’s vibrant artworks celebrate birdlife with humour, colour, and a deep love of nature; a real treat for art lovers and comedy fans alike.
More information on the exhibition can be found here
Plan for the day: We’ll meet at the gallery entrance at 11am, go in and explore the exhibition together, and then head over to the newly opened Nettle Café nearby. Admission into the Gallery and exhibition is free.
Nettle Café focuses on locally sourced natural ingredients with a sustainable approach and has some vegan-friendly options available. Whether you're after a coffee and cake or a light lunch, there’ll be something tasty to enjoy. I have asked for a photo of the menu so will upload it once received 🙂
As this is a vegan group, we kindly ask that attendees order vegan items only, out of respect for the group ethos and the comfort of fellow members.
