# Little Japan – Casual Japan & Philippines Meetup 🇯🇵🇵🇭

Looking for a relaxed place to meet new people, practice languages, and talk about Japan or the Philippines?
Little Japan is a friendly casual-talk community in Manila where Japanese, Filipinos, and international guests gather for free conversation and cultural exchange.
No lectures. No pressure. Just real conversations.
We usually talk about:

• Japan & Philippine culture
• Food & daily life
• Travel & local tips
• Language learning
• Work & study experiences
• Anime, music, hobbies, and random topics

We start with short self-introductions so everyone can join easily, even first-timers.
The first half is mainly in English.
Later, we separate into English and Japanese tables, so beginners and non-Japanese speakers can relax and enjoy the meetup too.
英語が苦手な日本人、日本語が苦手な外国人も気軽に参加できます。

At KOYA, we provide a space where children can play, read, and study. Join our Information & Experience Day to see our activities!
(子どもたちの学習・遊びの場「KOYA」のボランティア説明＆体験会です)

• How you can help: Reading picture books, tutoring math, or supporting behind the scenes.
• Donations: As a small-scale operation, we do NOT accept any financial donations.

### Schedule Update (Starting October)

To ensure smooth operations, our Saturday schedule will change as follows:

• 1st & 3rd Saturdays: Priority for 1st & 2nd-time participants (Includes Orientation)
• 2nd & 4th Saturdays: For members attending 3+ times (Meet directly at KOYA)

👉 This event is for the 1st Saturday! First- and second-time participants are warmly welcome!

• 2:00 PM: Meet at Narrafe for orientation & explanation

• 3:00 PM: Volunteering Starts
  (Free time playing, drawing, reading, and interacting with children)
• 4:30 PM: Wrap up & End

Due to our small team size, we may not reply to individual messages on the app. Please ask any questions during the orientation at Narrafe.

All RSVPs will initially start on the Waiting List to give priority to new participants. We check applications regularly and will manually approve your spot soon!

• For Members: Attendance is open to those who have participated 2 or more times. There is no event host assigned, so members will coordinate and run the session directly at KOYA.
• First-time Visitors: If you are visiting for the first time, please join our 1st or 3rd Saturday event instead.
  (※Exception: Regular members are welcome to bring up to 1 first-time friend as a guest with them!)
