About us
đ If small talk drains you, deep conversations light you up, and youâre curious about many things - from science and philosophy to art and more - you'll feel at home here!
đĄ Groups are kept small to deepen conversations and give everyone a chance to speak. Each discussion is guided by currated theme-specific question cards and knowledge prepared in advance by the organizers - so we go beyond opinions and debate.
đ¤ Real connection and learning happen through the conversation by listening closely, being playful, curious and exploring ideas together.
𧊠Before each event, we share interactive âfood for thoughtâ on Instagram to warm up the conversation.

----------------------------- đ Shared Community Contributions -----------------------------
This community exists because a significant amount of care and work goes into organizing each event. This includes:
⢠Finding and coordinating quiet venues
⢠Preparing and facilitating events
⢠Managing logistics and communication
⢠Maintaining social media and community outreach (which helps grow the group and secure venues)
⢠Covering the increasing Meetup platform fees and related expenses
To keep this sustainable, participants are invited to contribute in one of two ways:
⢠Volunteer your time or skills to help organize, host, or support events (such social media outreach)
⢠Pay the event contribution, which helps cover the costs above
Both forms of contribution are equally valued đ
-------------------------- đŤ Respect, Community Integrity & Safety --------------------------
This is not a commercial service, but a community we build together. Mutual respect and trust are foundational.
Harassment, discrimination, or insults - in person or online - will result in an immediate ban.
Similarly, committing to attend and contribute (financially or otherwise) and then not following through undermines the shared trust that keeps this space alive. This may result in exclusion from future events.

Book Club - "The Fear of Freedom" by Erich Fromm
Freiwilligenladen MĂźnchner Freiwillige â Wir helfen e.V., Tumblingerstrasse 50, MĂźnchen, DE"He is alone and free, yet powerless and afraid. The newly won freedom appears as a curse."
Why do people surrender their individuality so easily? And why do loneliness and anxiety grow in societies built on personal freedom?
As old structures, and certainties collapse, we are left alone with ourselves - forced to choose, define meaning, and carry the weight of our own existence.
And often, rather than face that responsibility, we escape into conformity, distraction, ideology, status, endless productivity.
This book does not only diagnose our fears - it points toward a deeper kind of freedom: one rooted not in isolation, but in courage, love, self-awareness, and genuine connection.
Genres: Philosophy, Psychology, Political Theory, Social Criticism, Philosophical Fiction, Cultural History
Pages: ~ 290, paperbackđŤ Follow us on Instagram @lifelong__curious for events, curious insights, and community highlights.
Contribution: A âŹ5 fee is kindly requested to contribute to organisational and platform costs (PayPal or cash) 2 weeks before the book club. More about our organisation and other ways to support can be found in our group description đ¤
