ABOUT US
Hello Ladies! I’m excited that our group is growing so rapidly and that so many of your are engaging in our events!!
Our common goal is to meet and build real relationships at and outside of our Meetup events. Set a goal to walk away from each event with a few new phone numbers, then actually CALL each other once in a while. Let's build each other up, check in on each other, lean on each other and provide support. Let's move beyond "Lucinda from Meetup" and get to know each other's last names, lives and passions. Are you with me?
I rely on you to recommend a variety of events so that the group becomes and remains interesting to everyone. Will you help me with that??
Join us and invite your girlfriends. Try something new. I can't wait to connect with you!
Your hostess, organizer and new girlfriend,
Lucinda Layton

NO SHOWS AND LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS
Our groups is rapidly growing, and most events are filling up quickly. With that in mind, I want to address our growing number of no-shows and last minute cancellations.
Last minute cancellations should be an exception (like your broke your leg and there's a bone sticking out), not a rule. Last minute vacancies often go unfilled, even when there’s a waitlist because ladies have already made other plans. Please only RSVP to events that you are sure you want to attend and keep your RSVPs up-to-date. Do not RSVP before checking your calendar. Do not RSVP if you're waiting to see if something better comes along.
No-shows and last minute cancellations are frustrating and, well...not so mannerly. I ask that you keep in mind the volume of time, energy AND COST (yes, your organizers pay an annual out-of-pocket fee to MeetUp) that goes into planning events for you, including visiting venues, researching events, coordinating reservations and fielding lots of questions from the group. So, trust me, when an event finally rolls around, I’m so ready to enjoy it!! But when you just don't show up, your hostess is most likely worried that you couldn’t find us, couldn’t find parking or you were too nervous to meet a group of strangers. Your hostess then spends time trying to reach you, looking for you on the street, apologizing to the restaurant for the unfilled seats, and checking the her phone to make sure you’re not lost. That makes it virtually impossible for your hostess to enjoy her own event. So please exercise basic common courtesy and etiquette - keep your RSVPs up to date and please CALL your hostess/organizer if you’re cancelling within 24 hours of the event. It's the decent thing to do. Thanks for your understanding and contributions to this amazing tribe of women. ❤️
Hey Beautiful!
I'm hosting a One Warm Coat Drive, specifically for children's coats in downtown Willow Glen on August 23 and 30th, from 10AM - 2PM. I look for a small number of volunteers to help me collect coats, warmly thank people, offer coffee, water and snacks, count and pack coats into boxes as they are received. I'll have chairs so we can sit down and chill between visitors. There will be no heavy lifting, just lots of community love. Volunteer shifts are as follows:
Sat, Aug. 23: 10AM - 12PM (2 people needed)
Sat., Aug. 23: 12pm - 2PM (2 people needed)
Sat, Aug. 30: 10AM - 12PM (2 people needed)
Sat., Aug. 30: 12pm - 2PM (2 people needed)
If you can volunteer, please RSVP AND sign up here on this google doc.
If you are unable to volunteer for a shift with me, that's ok! You can help keep San Jose's children warm this winter in other ways:
- Pop by with a new or gently used, clean children's coat(s), on Aug. 23 or 30, between 10AM - 2PM. Address is 1276 Lincoln Avenue, San Jose, CA.
- Donate a few bucks here. Every $1 warms 1 child!
- Spread the word to friends, especially those with children (who grow out of their coats and jackets every year!)
Ladies, thank you for your care and support!
Warm regards,
Lucinda Layton

Friends,
I'm doing a thing and I invite you to join me at the first Micro MeetUp.Unlike our usual events, Micro MeetUps are an intimate gathering of 4-6 women over coffee or a meal. No large crowds. No awkward small talk. Just real conversations, real laughter and a chance to form genuine connections that go beyind the surface.
Where you're new or a veteran of our group, looking to expand your circle, or simply craving deeper friendships, this is your space. Every Micro MeetUp is designed to be welcoming, inclusive and full of heart. So, get ready to pull up a chair, bring your curiosity, and join me for something that's more than just food - Micro MeetUps are fuel for connection.
Because of the small group format, your attendance matters. So every Micro MeetUp will have the usual $10 reservation deposit, which is due when your RSVP to the event. The first women to RSVP AND make payment will secure a seat at the event. The $10 will be refunded to you when you arrive at the event within 15 minutes of the start time. For late arrivals, same day cancellations and no shows, the reservation deposit will go towards the $675 annual cost of the MeetUp platform for our group.
The first Micro MeetUp will be at The ByWater Restaurant in Los Gatos. We'll spend a brief portion of our evening chatting about how 2025 is shaping up for us, what we'd like to accomplish by the end of the year, and how we can support each other. Come with the expectation that you'll exchange contact details with at least one dinner companion.
