There's a region with famous rock formations to the west of Karlsruhe, centered around the small town of Dahn.
This place is a bit remote with few convenient train connections. But there is one direct train, departing a bit earlier than our usual trips.
This is a medium difficulty hike. We might find some spots for easy climbs, but that's completely optional of course. I'll post a link to the route in the comments.
There's a nice place for food and drinks after around one third of the trip.
Getting there:
- We're taking an RB train at 9:14, track 101. Let's meet at the track a few minutes before departure.
- Arrival time in Dahn Süd is 10:55.
- If you live in Palatinate or around Heidelberg, you can join us in Landau.
- If you come by car you can join us at Dahn Süd train station or at the start point of the hike (see link in comments).
- We can take a direct train back at 6pm, arriving in Karlsruhe at 7:45pm. Maybe we'll finish the hike earlier. There's also an option to take a short-cut back after around half of the hike.
What to bring:
- hat and sun cream recommended
- lots of water and snacks/ food
Any questions, comment on this event or message me in English or German.
I encourage you to contribute 2-5 € to cover membership costs. Meetup has been getting quite expensive. I hope we can cover the costs if most of us contribute once or twice per year.
If you can't give for any reason that's alright, you're still welcome to join!
