Tiber Island Virtual Walking Tour - Rome’s Hidden Gem

Join us for a captivating virtual stroll through one of Rome’s most fascinating and historic spots — Isola Tiberina, the only island in the Tiber River. Though small, this island has witnessed over two thousand years of history, legends, and faith.
We’ll uncover how, according to myth, the island was formed from the remains of a tyrant’s body thrown into the river — yet it became a sacred place of healing. In 291 BC, the Temple of Aesculapius, god of medicine, was built here, and ever since, Tiber Island has been linked to health and miracles. Today, the Fatebenefratelli Hospital continues that ancient tradition.
As we wander virtually through its narrow paths, you’ll see how the island connects two of Rome’s most atmospheric neighborhoods — Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto — and discover how it became a bridge between cultures, faiths, and centuries.
We’ll admire the Ponte Fabricio, Rome’s oldest bridge still in use since 62 BC, and the Ponte Cestio, leading to Trastevere. You’ll visit the Church of San Bartolomeo all’Isola, built on the ruins of the ancient temple, and hear stories of saints, pilgrims, and everyday Romans who found refuge here through time.
More than just a dot in the river, Tiber Island is a living symbol of Rome — where history, legend, and the gentle rhythm of the Tiber meet.
✨ Discover this hidden heart of the Eternal City from the comfort of your home!

The Three Favorite Villas of the Medici Family Virtual Tour

    Online

REGISTRATION REQUIRED! Click here to register

Step into the world of the Medici family, the powerful dynasty that shaped the Renaissance, and explore their three most beloved residences. Discover how art, nature, and architecture came together to express the elegance, intellect, and influence of Florence’s ruling family.
Our journey begins at the Villa di Castello, once home to Cosimo I de’ Medici. Surrounded by magnificent gardens designed by Niccolò Tribolo, this villa became a symbol of harmony between man and nature. Through images and stories, we’ll uncover how its fountains, sculptures, and allegories reflected Medici power and philosophy — a living textbook of Renaissance ideals.
Next, we visit the splendid Villa La Petraia, admired for its panoramic views over Florence. Transformed by Ferdinando I de’ Medici, it was both a family residence and a place of celebration. You’ll see the richly decorated halls and frescoes that evoke courtly life, music, and refined taste — where the Medici entertained guests from across Europe.
Finally, we’ll explore Villa di Poggio a Caiano, commissioned by Lorenzo the Magnificent and designed by Giuliano da Sangallo. Considered a masterpiece of early Renaissance architecture, this villa combines classical harmony with Tuscan charm. It served as the setting for political gatherings, royal receptions, and even grand Medici weddings.
This presentation offers a fascinating window into the private world of the Medici — their passion for beauty, their vision of power, and their love for the Tuscan landscape.

Join us for a virtual stroll through Todi, one of Umbria’s most enchanting hill towns, perched high above the Tiber Valley. Often called “the most livable town in Italy,” Todi combines medieval charm, Renaissance elegance, and breathtaking views at every turn.
Our journey begins in Piazza del Popolo, one of Italy’s most beautiful squares, surrounded by grand civic buildings like the Palazzo del Capitano, Palazzo del Priore, and Palazzo del Popolo. You’ll learn how this square has been the heart of Todi’s political and social life for centuries.

Fra’ Angelico and the Museum of San Marco - Florence

    Online

REGISTRATION REQUIRED! Click here to register

Travel virtually to Florence to explore the serene world of Fra’ Angelico and the spiritual beauty of the Museum of San Marco. Through a sequence of evocative slides, we’ll uncover the harmony between art, faith, and Renaissance innovation that makes this place truly unique.

You’ll learn how Cosimo de’ Medici transformed the monastery into a haven for Dominican friars, commissioning works that combined elegance and devotion. Our journey follows Fra’ Angelico’s artistic path, from his early altarpieces to the frescoes that adorn the monks’ cells — each one painted to inspire prayer and reflection.

As the slides reveal details of his most celebrated works — including The Annunciation, The Crucifixion, and Saint Dominic at the Foot of the Cross — you’ll see how his art captures divine light and human emotion with extraordinary simplicity.

Did you know? In this very period, Florence is hosting a major exhibition dedicated to Fra’ Angelico at Palazzo Strozzi and the Museum of San Marco — a wonderful occasion to celebrate and rediscover this Renaissance genius.

✨ Join us and experience the timeless light of Fra’ Angelico — a journey through art, devotion, and the heart of Florence.
