Each session includes an introduction to an NVC practice and a specific practice.

We invite you to join us in mindfulness practice for Self-Awareness, Self-Responsibility, and Self-Empowerment.
Compassionate Communication(also called Nonviolent Communication) was developed by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg.
About the Trainer, Eric Huang
Eric Huang is a Certified Trainer in Nonviolent Communication through the Center for Nonviolent Communication. He has worked High Tech Marketing for 25 years. He volunteered as a Youth Soccer Coach and Coach Instructor for 25 seasons. He has been a Parent and Partner for even longer. He lives in Sunnyvale, California.

About the Organizer, Melissa Newkirk
Melissa Newkirk holds BA in Community Studies from UCSC, MFA work at SFAI, Dedicated student in NVC nonviolent communication, prioritizing community service and collaborative work in project management.
Melissa has been a Mother for 22 years, was partnered for 27 years, an advocate for the arts, event planner, fundraiser supporting local arts, specializing in nonprofit organizations, teacher of art in schools and community businesses. Melissa manages multiple LLCs in real estate development, has implemented and executed projects from creation to completion prioritizing working with clients to meet their needs.

12:15pm: Break for Lunch (bring drinks or a side if you feel moved to do so. We'll provide a make-your-own sandwich bar. All welcome to join!)
1:15pm: Session 2: "TBD" with Shawn
3:15pm: End and Clean up opportunities

3:15pm: End & opportunities to help clean up
Each session will include instruction, small group discussion, and practical exercises using compassionate communication (a.k.a. Nonviolent Communication)
Financial Accessibility is important to us. We offer this training as a gift. (You can attend for free AND) We request $25-$75 per session to support our Sustainability. This covers our expenses for our time, training materials, travel, and accommodation.
