The hike starts out downhill, heading away from Skyline Blvd, and down toward the ocean. Soon after leaving the trailhead, you head out on top of one of the ocean facing ridges, where you can see the ocean and North Ridge Trail.

This loop trail starts at the parking lot off Skyline Boulevard and leads into El Corte De Madera Creek Open Space Preserve. It winds through beautiful, lush landscapes filled with redwoods, pine trees, and ferns, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the creek. Be prepared for steep, rocky terrain—sturdy footwear is recommended.

This is a very popular area for hiking and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. You'll need to leave pups at home — dogs aren't allowed on this trail.
