Rock and Ridge trail
Get Ready to Rock Your Socks Off on the Rock and Ridge Trail!
Lace up your boots, grab your intrepid explorers, because we're about to embark on an adventure that's more exciting than finding a forgotten fry at the bottom of the bag! Our destination? The legendary Ridge and Rock Trail, where history, nature, and a dash of delightful weirdness collide.
On this almost 4 mile hike, prepare to journey through time as we wander past an old homestead – who knows what secrets it holds? (Probably just dust bunnies and fireplace critters, but let's pretend it's pirate gold!). Then, we'll serenely follow Pavia Run, a babbling brook that's probably humming its own catchy tune. We'll even stumble upon a CCC Group Camping area, where you can imagine burly, depression-era workers enjoying a hearty meal (and maybe even a spontaneous singalong!).
But wait, there's more! The trail then takes us on a thrilling ascent(about 718 ft increase in elevation), traversing the ridge line like a majestic mountain goat (or, you know, a very out-of-breath human). Finally, we'll triumphantly return to the Mowery Picnic Area parking lot, where high-fives and victory dances are highly encouraged. We can even enjoy our snacks after this hike and talk.
Ready to make some memories (and maybe find some lost socks)?
