About us
We are a walking group based in Norfolk, run by a lovely team of relaxed, friendly, inclusive volunteers aimed at similar like-minded people.
We tend to have at least one walking event every weekend. Each walking event can be very different in terms of terrain, distance, and walking speed. Please check the details of each event to assess whether it is suitable for you.
Occasionally we also put on more leisurely paced walks, shorter mid-week walks and evening walks, as well as a few much faster paced and challenging walks, and the occasional trips away.
New members are always welcome to come on 3 walks to see what we are like before joining. We hope that you like us and what we do, and if you wish to walk with us after your first 3 free walks, then you need to Join the Ramblers.
When joining the Ramblers, in the second section of the form, under the heading "Your group", choose the "Norfolk Area" then the "Hike Norfolk group". To receive communications from us, you need to provide your email address to Ramblers when you join (and update Ramblers if your email changes).
Please bring your Ramblers membership card or a photo of it to all events as we do periodic checks.
We look forward to seeing you.
All the best from the Hike Norfolk Team.

It that time again! Time for a challenge and to get the blood pumping in our flat Norfolk veins! Please join me for this rather challenging and hilly (for Norfolk) hike, in which we will hike up and down quite a few of Norfolks highest hills, the total gradients come to approx 1140ft - that's a small mountain in geographical terms. We will pass by Felbrigg, Sheringham Park (plus the gazebo if it has been restored), Beeston Bump, Stone Hill, and Roman Camp along the way. This is a hike for people with very good fitness levels, good levels of pace and energy, and not for beginners, so please bear this in mind before signing up, as we will be walking for most of the day.I am a fairly brisk walk leader, most people know this about me - so please bear this in mind. If you are a very slow walker this may impact on the group as a whole, and it is important to keep everyone together as a group in order that we all get back at the approximated time.
Approximate Breaks: Please bring your own packed lunch and snacks as required, and plenty of water/drinks to stay hydrated throughout the walk. We will stop for 5 minute mini breaks at the tops of the various viewpoints along the way, a longer loo/snack break at Sheringham sea front, and for a longer stop / food at Sheringham park where there are loos.
Walk specific health and safety: There are some stiles/and possible some cattle on this route, dog to be on leads at all times. If it rains in the days before the walk certain areas may be muddy. There are various steep and uneven pathways throughout this walk. We will have to cross the busy A148, and the coast Road twice each during this walk.
After the walk: You are welcome to stop afterwards at Felbrigg cafe for post hike relaxation and additional sustenance in the form of cake and tea, and if dry enough a lay down in a crumpled heap on their lovely lawn.
