Stateless Models, Stateful Systems: Designing Data Layers for Long-Running Agents

In a demo, your AI agent appears to remember everything. In production, it may forget you instantly—or worse, leak your data to the next user.

Why? Because AI models are fundamentally stateless—they don’t have built-in memory. Memory isn’t simply a feature of the model; it is a complex data system that developers need to architect, secure, and scale.

In this session, Sathyaram Sannasi will explore the real engineering behind building long-running AI agents on Google Cloud.
