Fun Charlotte Tennis for Beginners Intermediates Group

No paid reservations this time since courts are usually less busy in the winter months.

COURTS: Jeff Adams location (follow the pin drop) has a total of 13 tennis courts. We will look for open courts to play on when we arrive, but please understand that although it is unlikely there is a possibility that the park is busy and there are not enough courts available for everyone who comes.

COURTESY: Please be polite towards other players. Harassment of any form is not allowed. This is a social tennis group, not a competitive cohort. We try our best to identify players at the same level. When we intervene to place players in different groups, please know we try to enable all groups to play with good intentions. If more advanced players are in a group with beginners, be ready to offer kind suggestions and tips. Be nice and a joy to be around!

CANCELLATION POLICY: We will notify the day of the event if we have to cancel due to the weather.

LOGISTICS: Players are encouraged to bring their own racquet, a bottle of water, and tennis balls if you have any. This group provides additional tennis balls as backups. The latest we'll cancel an event (usually due to weather) will be an hour prior to the start time.

SOCIAL: From time to time, we organize post-tennis socials for players to participate safely. Sometimes due to weather or health concerns, we may not be able to do so. If there are socials, we'll announce the location ahead of time or on the court. You are welcome to join us for a drink or dish at a brewery, bar or restaurant friendly to sporting groups within 5 minutes' drive.

SUPPORT OUR GROUP: The Meetup app charges us $360 each year just to keep our group active, so we humbly appreciate any donations you are able to give to our Pledge campaign! All funds raised are 100% allocated to Meetup platform costs and tennis balls for our events.

COURTS: Park Road Park has a total of 12 tennis courts, many or all of which could be reserved for tournaments from time to time. We'd move to another court if all courts are reserved for the weekend. These free courts are FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED (not guaranteed at all). Hosts typically get there 15 minutes before start time to secure courts. They can get busy. If you get there early, please help us secure as many courts as possible and negotiate to play doubles with other players.

WAITLIST & NO SHOW: Please register ahead of time in order to attend this event. If you can't make it, kindly change your RSVP 3 - 24 hours prior (by 12PM on Sunday) so others on the "Waitlist" can join. Canceling 1-2 hours prior to a meet gives waitlisted players too little time to plan their day, although we understand sometimes things do come up at the last minute. “No show” (i.e. RSVP to an event without showing up) will be recorded and will lower a player’s chances to sign up for future events. We try our best to encourage sportsmanship as well as responsibility and care for fellow players.
