This book group focuses on authors and stories that explore diverse and underrepresented voices and experiences.

This month's book is "Haben: The DeafBlind Woman Who Conquered Harvard Law" by Haben Girma

A little about the book:

This book documents the story of the first deaf and blind graduate of Harvard Law School, tracing her refugee parents' harrowing experiences in the Eritrea-Ethiopian war and her development of innovations that enabled her remarkable achievements.

Books will be available at the Main Desk for one month before this meeting. New members are always welcome.

The LGBTQ+ Book Club is an adult book club that meets on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30pm from September through May. We enjoy reading fiction and nonfiction by and about queer authors and characters. We also occasionally watch movies and host author visits. September's movie is Moonlight

A young black man struggles to find his place in the world while growing up in a rough neighborhood of Miami.

Are you a new (or new-ish) parent? Join us with your little ones for a relaxed monthly meet-up designed for parents of youngsters up to 18 months old – connect with others in the community, share experiences, and build your support network in a friendly, welcoming space. We'll provide coffee and refreshments for parents to enjoy while your babies exploretoys and books we'll have available for them. Registration is requested but not required.

Join us for this amazing concert from Methuen's own Ben Cosgrove. Ben is a traveling composer-performer whose music explores themes of landscape, place, and environment. Described by the Boston Globe as “a sonic plein-air painter who uses his piano as a paintbrush,” Ben has performed in every U.S. state except for Delaware, collaborated with groups ranging from rock bands to research scientists, contributed music to several radio and film projects including the Ken Burns documentary The American Buffalo.
