Franklin Friends (55+)

Franklin Friends is a group of women residing in Williamson County who are 55+ years old and interested in developing sincere friendships with other women in the local area. All women living in Williamson County are welcome, whether single, divorced, married or widowed.

OUR GOAL: The goal of Franklin Friends (55+) is to establish a close-knit group of women who are interested in developing relationships that are caring, supportive and positive. Developing friendships takes time & effort. Please do not request membership unless you are able to regularly participate. We are not a Mah Jong group; members must be interested in attending a variety of activities.

**MEMBERSHIP—**To ensure members have the opportunity to regularly see other members, our group is:
—kept small (approximately 55 members),
—all female,
—open to women living in Williamson County (please do not apply if you live outside Williamson County), and
—not a group where you rarely attend, late cancel or no-show.

**EVENTS—**Over 25 events are offered monthly hosted by our members including
*lunch/bunch/dinners/happy hours,
*coffees
*games (Bunco, Canasta, Mah Jong, Rummirube, Mexican Train, etc.)
*crafts/cooking lessons
*sporting events (walks, hikes, pickleball, etc.)
*casual potlucks
*music venues
*book clubs
*movies
*day trips/tours
*theatre events
*group volunteer opportunities
*etc.

**HOSTING/ATTENDANCE—**To keep the group fully engaged, offer a wide variety of activities, and ensure all members are comfortable attending our events:
—members must be willing to host two events (either in their home or in a public venue) in a four month period,
—attend a minimum of six events in a four-month period,
—adhere to our no solicitation policy—we are not a business networking group, and
—respect our policy not to discuss politics, religion or other subjects that could make members uncomfortable.

**DUES—**Franklin Friends dues are $7/month ($28/four month period). 100% of dues collected support the operation of Franklin Friends operation, paying for:
—our Meetup Subscription,
—administrative supplies (paper products, Bunco supplies, postage, etc.), and
—All-Member events (events that truly make our group different than other groups). These events are held at least four times per year (Spring High Tea, Pool Party, End of Summer Gathering and Friendsgiving). These events are open to all members, and Franklin Friends funds provides the majority of food/supplies/decorations/game prizes/room rental for these events to ensure all members can participate.

Any requests for membership must include all information requested--please read the questions carefully (especially #1). Requests for memberships which do not include all requested information and a picture (no pets, avatars, etc.) will not be considered to protect our member’s privacy.
