About us
Dallas AI is the largest 501(c)(3), nonprofit AI forum in North Texas with a community of 10,000+ professionals distributed over meetup and LinkedIn. Its mission is to help Dallas Fort Worth and Texas become a vibrant hub for AI via providing quality avenues for professional learning and networking. In the last 8+ years, the forum has conducted over 80 educational talks and workshops, partnering with top companies and academia at the forefront of AI research, including Hugging Face, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Verizon, MIT, University of Texas, UNT, Southern Methodist University and more.
Dallas AI is steered by local MIT Alumni leaders, Aamer Charania and Babar Bhatti. Dallas AI is backed by a strong board packed with C-level leaders and supported by a team of dedicated volunteers - all passionate about giving back to the community with their time and expertise. The large membership base of 10,000+ is very diverse, including professionals from a variety of industry verticals at different levels of their career journey - from C-level leadership to fresh graduates.
The Dallas AI forum is not tied to nor endorse any brand, vendor or product, thereby promoting unbiased, intellectual conversations, professional networking and learning without any sales aspects. Dr. Ashish Gupta is Globe Life Professor of Analytics within the department of Business Analytics & Information Systems in Raymond J. Harbert College of Business at Auburn University with a courtesy appointment within the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Samuel Gin College of Eng. at Auburn University. Prior to this, he served as the (founding) director of the Analytics Research Center and an Associate Professor of Analytics & IS in the College of Business at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. He has been a Visiting Research Scientist at the Mayo Clinic Rochester, Visiting Professor in Biomedical Informatics at the Arizona State University, and a research affiliate with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.
He has a Ph.D. in MSIS from the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. At Auburn University, he has established and presently manages a data science cluster (Barracuda) and a state-of-art Business analytics lab, which are part of the new Business Computing initiative.Dr. Sreehas Gopinathan earned his PhD in information systems from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2024. His doctoral dissertation focused on using graph neural networks (GNNs) to predict patent litigation in the pharmaceutical industry. Other research projects include using GNNs to analyze social learning dynamics on dark web forum sites and developing AI-based technology to prevent the spread of misinformation using bots. He teaches Business Data Management and Acquisition (BUAL 5500), Introduction to AI (BUAL3100) and Capstone Projects (BUAL 5860). As a visiting professor at the University of Texas, he taught Python Programming and Advanced Data Science and Machine Learning courses. Prior to joining Harbert College, Gopinathan was an enterprise AI product architect at Infosys, a global digital services and consulting firm, where he led the implementation of technology-focused projects for clients in the banking, financial, sports, semiconductor and insurance industries.
