Welcome the wild west of Kerry, were you can not understand the locals accent. Cahersiveen brings back lot memories for me. The pubs are lively with trad music. Cahersiveen is where is Daniel O' Connell parents house is and plenty history in the area but not born and raised up. There is plenty accommodation about two. I have wild camping spot that has showers not too far away. You can also camp in mannix outside of the town. Here is my plan

Friday
Arrive and relax for the evening in a nice cosy pub.

Saturday.
Hike: Cnoc na dTobar the Pilgrim path, sauna afterwards. Fellow by nightout in the town.

Sunday.
A day trip to Valentia Island by bikes.

So come away. The wild west is awating you.

Part of Cahersiveen weekend. Witness one most breath taking hikes in Kerry. Known as pilgrim hike there is about 14 crosses. Canon Brosnan the person who built Daniel O Connell church erected the 14 crosses on the route. On the top there is great views of Dingle bay and even towards West Cork.

For this Hike. I have not decided on route. If it is a good day we will starting from the Kells side. A more interesting route up. We will be meeting at the mace garage

This cycle is one you can not miss. This cycle is about 40km of pure enjoyment.

What will you see on this on cycle. First of all you get a ferry over only 2 euro.

• Next is going to Velentia lighthouse were there is Tetrapod trackway one of earliest land animals in Devonian age 400 million years ago.

•Next up Geokaun mountain one most stunning views of the whole island. Great views of skellig island in the distance.

• Next on ageda is Bray head just stunning walk with beautiful surroundings

• Next we will stop were the first transalantic cable went from Valentia towards newfoundland in Canda

• Next up is the Kerry Cliffs about 5 euro to get in. Beautiful views of the sea and the cliffs

• Last of all stopping in Portmagee famous for fresh fish. Cycle back to Cahersiveen

🏕️ Killarney Camping Weekend | 11–13 September

Get ready for a weekend of camping, nature, good food and good company as Cork Outdoorsy heads to Killarney! 🌿🏕️

We’ll spend the weekend based at Fleming’s White Bridge Camping & Caravan Park in Killarney, surrounded by nature and close to the town. The plan is to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, have a BBQ, chill around the fire and explore.

We’ll meet at Fleming’s White Bridge Camping & Caravan Park in Killarney.

Once everyone is settled in, we’ll have a relaxed evening at the campsite — BBQ, drinks, nature and good vibes. 🔥🌲

We’ll enjoy a relaxed morning around the campsite before packing up and heading home.

No need to rush — the idea is to finish the weekend with a proper Cork Outdoorsy chill. ☕🌲

• Your own tent + camping equipment
• Warm clothes and waterproof/rain gear
• Extra layers for the night
• Hiking/outdoor shoes recommended
• Swimming gear 🩱
• Food for the weekend, including something for the BBQ
• Drinks
• €2 coins for the campsite showers
• And most importantly… good vibes! 😄

There is a SuperValu close to the campsite, so you don’t necessarily need to bring everything with you.

🚆 Getting There

Train: There are trains directly to Killarney.

Bus: Bus 40 (Expressway) is another option.

From Killarney town, a taxi to the campsite is recommended.

For Saturday, we’ll organise transport between the campsite and the kayaking location in Derrynane through the WhatsApp group.
