Chilled Out Meetups is one of Leeds biggest groups organising social events for 18 to 38 year olds. Thinking about joining or have recently become a member? See essential information for new members by clicking this link.
Our events include an organised walk every other week (over summer), coffee and drinks socials, women-only events and one off visits to destinations in Leeds and sometimes further out. We also run 'one off' events from time to time, and hope to add more types of activities in future.
Are you in charge of a venue or other potential event destination? We'd love to hear from you about working together to put on a Meetup. In return for a space, we can offer a large group of new customers and potentially repeat business in the form of one our regular events. Feel free to send us a message.
ORGANISERS WANTED - Our group is co-owned equally by its organisers. Most decisions are made by organizers giving unanimous approval. If you're interested in running events let us know, no matter what type of event you want to do - remember as an organiser you decide the time, place and activity.
We are fully committed to everyone feeling safe and secure at events so there will be zero tolerance for any harassment, unwanted attention or any other disrespectful behavior. This is a space without any kind of prejudice including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia etc. and this includes 'jokes' and 'memes', please take it elsewhere. We may organise women-only events - if this is a problem then this isn't the right group for you.
You can make a donation to the group here.
If you treat others with kindness and use some common sense you should get along fine here, but if you'd like to check our rules and policies you can see them here.
Have questions about something not detailed in the new member guide or rules? You will probably find answers in our FAQ here.
Our financials are kept open for public viewing. You can see the ledger here.

Leeds Industrial Museum: Untangled
Leeds Industrial Museum, Canal Road, Armley LS12 2QF, Leeds, GBWe're heading back to Leeds Industrial Museum! If you were at this event last year, there's lots of new things to see. If you did not attend, this attraction was very much enjoyed by everyone and I really think you'll like it too!
New Exhibitions
Engineery - Celebrating 300 years since John Smeaton, the father of civil engineering.
Ludd in the Machine - What connects the rise of modern AI to the early 19th century? Both of these eras ushered in monumental changes in the job market. Explore 200 years of industrialisation from the perspective of a worker.
Untangled - Taking place in the reopened outdoor area, this exhibition is all about felt.
Also, weather permitting, take a stroll around the recently renovated outdoor area and maybe chill in the new picnic area.
Due to bad weather, we'll meet directly at Leeds Industrial Museum. We've arranged a special entry price just for Chilled Out Meetup members. Lets learn about the past from this epicentre of the industrial revolution. Then, we'll meet in the museum canteen for hot drinks and a chat.
Approximate schedule:

Getting here
The 14 service stops closest to the museum, or alternatively very frequent services run from Kirkstall Road a short walk away. I recommend using Google Maps or Moovit to find bus times and stop locations. The nearest train station is Burley Park which is around a 20 minute walk away.
The museum car park is currently been renovated so spaces are limited. There are more spaces at the adjacent Farnell UK car park, postcode LS12 2TU. Alternatively park at Cardigan Fields which is about a 5 minute walk away and has ample free spaces.
If coming from Kirkstall Road/Cardigan Fields you will need to cross the pedestrian bridge at the end of Milford Place, behind the Climbing Lab and Autopfect buildings. The bridge at the back of Cardigan Fields is NOT operational, and you need to go around the back of cinema to access this pedestrian bridge, it's not accessible directly from the Cardigan Fields car park.

Headrow House Social
Headrow House, Bramleys Yard, The Headrow, Leeds, LS1 6PU, GBEnjoy drinks at Headrow House this bank holiday weekend. No work the next day means hangovers are no problem! As the weather is due to be rainy we have opted to move the Meetup indoors to the ground floor.
We are NOT booking this venue privately so we'll be mixing with the general public.
Afterwards, if enough people want to stay, this might turn into a full night out.
This event takes place directly after a walk. We will be looping back to this venue at the end of the walk so you can come to both, however if you want to join the walk you need to RSVP on that event too.

Women Only Motel (Northlight)
Northlight Arts, 32 Potternewton Lane, West Yorkshire, GBNote: These women only events are made possible by the attendees and, when available, volunteer hosts. Other members rely on RSVPs to know how many people will be at an event and whose coming, so out of respect for them please update your RSVP if you're not coming.
