The venue is going to be Atkinsons restaurant which is still part of the csfe massarella chain, where they serve delicious cakes, mince pies, lights bites etc and a selection of hot & cold drinks.

After, for those who are coming to the event after it’s 9 min walk from Atkinsons to Pounds Park where the next event will start, and if you really want to you can always nip in the Chocolate Bar for a takeaway hot chocolate etc!

Why not come and join me on a short walk for Light Up Sheffield. If people want to stay out after they can but i’ll be leaving after seeing the landmarks etc. If the weatherr is bad then i’ll reeschedule this event or cancel it.

So the festive treats event will be at The Chocolate Bar near Pounds Park, so if you’re not coming to the event beforehand we’ll meet outsusw the Chocolate Bar cafe from there we’ll go to:

1. Pounds park
2. Go via the city hall - Barker's pool (Xmas markets are there keeps the route festive)
3. Library
4. Hop down to the cathedral which we will go inside to look at the Christmas Tree Festival.
5. Then if people wish to go to the Christmas markets on fargate and peace gardens they can do or go home.

Light Up Sheffield will see three of Sheffield’s most iconic landmarks - Sheffield Cathedral, Sheffield Central Library and Pounds Park - transformed with breathtaking light projections inspired by the city itself.
Created in collaboration with Sheffield artists, the illuminations will celebrate both the city’s heritage and its creativity today.

Highlights include the internationally acclaimed, Pete McKee, whose distinctive artistry will be projected onto Sheffield Cathedral and the Central Library, along with Peachzz, one of the UK’s most exciting emerging street artists, whose record-breaking mural Reverie will come to life, lighting up Pounds Park.
At Sheffield Central Library, visitors can enjoy an exhibition of Pete McKee’s artwork, featuring pieces from the past year alongside new additions, accompanied by a voice-over from the artist himself reflecting on Sheffield and its inspirations.
Sheffield Cathedral will be alight with spectacular projections that highlight its stunning architecture and stained-glass windows, including a new McKee commission.

Inside the cathedral, visitors can also step into a festive spectacle of more than 40 Christmas trees decorated by local charities, alongside McKee’s hand-painted mural in full. The mural will be set against the backdrop of a school nativity, capturing the artist's instantly recognisable, witty and nostalgic style.
At Pounds Park, Peachzz’s (Megan Russell) large-scale mural will be animated with new digital elements, drawing on the city’s regeneration and waterways, with playful nods to neighbouring works - including Pete McKee’s famous “Nana" nearby.

The Victorian Christmas Market has over 80 market stalls selling an array of Sheffield made wares, quality gifts and seasonal goods, we can all come together and explore the markets and have a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate.

Tickets are £8 and will go on sale in October.
