Aberdeen, Carolina & Western Railway Shop Tour
Sugar Creek Blue Line Station, 700-724 East Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, NC, USJoin the Charlotte Urbanists for an interesting day visiting the Aberdeen, Carolina and Western Railway maintenance and restoration railroad shop in Candor, NC.
On Friday, November 6, the railroad will host a tour of their facility from 1 to 3 pm. Our group can carpool together leaving the Blue Line Sugar Creek Station at 700-724 East Sugar Creek Road in Charlotte promptly at 9 am. We will stop for lunch on the way to the railroad facility in Candor, NC (lunch is not included in ticket price). This is a ticketed event, with the railroad charging $25 per person, with very limited space available.
To get your ticket, go to:
https://www.acwr.com/entertainment/
Click down the page to Aberdeen, Carolina & Western Railway Shop tours and select November 6. This will sell out very quickly, so you must purchase your ticket ASAP! Do not sign-up for the Urbanist trip until after you have purchased your shop tour ticket from the railroad. There is no point to going to the facility if the tour is sold out and you didn’t get a ticket. We should return to the Sugar Creek Road Blue Line Station between 5 and 6 pm Friday evening.
Once you get your ticket from the railroad, then sign up for the Meet-Up and list if you need a ride or if you can drive. This is very important to make sure everyone has a way to get there! If you don't let us know your transportation situation, we will be forced to cancel your sign-up. We will also need a way to contact you if the need arises. This is an active railroad shop facility, so proper footwear must be worn! Thanks!1 attendee
