What we’re about
CAT group bike rides are geared toward nurturing new riders who are discovering the enjoyment of bicycling. We highlight local bike routes that serve fun and useful destinations like bakeries, coffee shops, local businesses, parks, etc., while utilizing the network of trails and streets.
We also offer special rides that promote biking to work and overnight touring such as bike camping trips/bikepacking.
CAT is an IRS 501(c)3 non-profit organization and here's our mission:
CAT–Coalition for Appropriate Transportation strengthens our Lehigh Valley community and our environment through bicycling, pedestrian accessibility, and public transportation.
CAT works to improve mobility for everyone. Better bicycling, walking/ADA accessibility, and public transit develop a stronger, smarter economy and a higher quality of life. Sustainable transportation reduces traffic congestion, counters climate change, and offers a healthier community for everyone.
CAT serves adults & children of Pennsylvania’s Lehigh & Northampton Counties.

See all- OVER THE HILL NOR-BATH COFFEE RUNBicentennial Park, Bath, PA
Join the Over the Hill riders on Monday June 16th at 10am for a mixed trail and road ride to Northampton. We’ll meet at the Bicentennial Park lot on Liberto Lane. The ride includes the Nor-Bath trail into Northampton, a refreshment stop, then a return via roads and trails. Roundtrip the ride will be 11-12 miles.
CAT's Over the Hill ride is for people who are available during the day. If you're looking for a leisurely, low-stress outing in pleasant company, this is the ride for you. Most any type of bike is workable on this route, though if you have a very-skinny-tired road bike, you will want to exercise extra caution in the few trail spots with loose gravel.
Please check Meetup for any changes or cancellations due to weather.

Hey all you CAT women riders, it's time to get back on the wheels for our weekly women's bike ride! This year we'll be riding regularly on Wednesday nights, gathering starting at 5:30 p.m. with a ride time of 6 p.m..
We'll meet here in the parking lot adjacent to the Charlie Brown Icehouse on Sand Island in Bethlehem.
Come a little early if you need to air up your tires, adjust your seat, lube your chain, or do any other minor adjustments. If your bike needs more serious attention, you can get help ahead of time at the CAT bike co-op.
Feel free to pass this invite on to your friends. All cis women, trans women, and nonbinary folks are welcomed.
This is a mild-paced, flat ride on the D&L Trail, headed by CAT's ride leaders, about 4-5 miles out and back. All kinds of bikes are appropriate. Riders of all skill levels are welcome, and no one gets dropped. Seriously. It’s ok if you haven’t been on a bike in a long time, we’re patient and we’re nice. We want to support women in cycling, and that includes you!
As with all CAT rides, riders must wear a helmet. In addition, you may want to bring some water and a spare tube that matches your wheel.
Any last minute changes due to weather will be made through Meetup. If you have any other questions we can help with, feel free to contact Anne (annef@lvcat.org) or Sarah (saraha@lvcat.org). We look forward to riding with you!
