About us
Dear Friends,
The Buddhist Center – Thubten Norbu Ling (TNL) is an active community of individuals seeking to learn the nature of our own minds. Through study, meditation , prayer, retreat and community service, we try to reach our highest potential. Our goal is to help people discover and increase their satisfaction, joy, and capacity to benefit others.
Everyone is welcome at The Buddhist Center – Thubten Norbu Ling. You do not need to be a Buddhist. Curiosity is a bonus. The Thirty-Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas
The Buddhist Center Thubten Norbu Ling, 130 Rabbit Rd, Santa Fe, NM, USThe Thirty-Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas was composed in the fourteenth century by the great sage Togme Sangpo and is one of Tibetan Buddhism’s most treasured texts. Recognizing their true potential and letting go of everything that could hinder them on their spiritual journey, bodhisattvas entrust themselves to the Mahayana path taught by the Buddha.
The simple verses in this brief text summarize that path to perfection, providing a wonderful and lucid explanation of how each of us can engage in the practices of bodhisattvas, coming to cherish living beings as the source of all happiness and ultimately being able to work solely for the welfare of all.

Light Offering Practice for Those Affected by Floods in Nepal & Tibet

At the advice of Charok Lama, our sangha will hold an extensive offering of light dedicated to those affected by the recent flooding in Nepal — the families who lost homes, the communities facing displacement, and all beings caught in the disaster's aftermath.
Light offerings carry a specific weight in Tibetan practice: each flame represents wisdom dispelling ignorance, and the collective offering generates merit that we dedicate directly toward relief and healing. Participants may sponsor lights in the names of loved ones, family, or the deceased, with proceeds supporting on-the-ground relief efforts in affected regions.
All proceeds will directly support the FPMT Emergency Relief Fund, providing immediate, practical support to families and communities devastated by this tragedy.
