Some things to know about the Media Factory events:
1. You do not need to be a member to attend most events. To become one, see if you are in our service area and take an orientation.
2. Most workshops are FREE with a suggested donation.
3. Some workshops have a prerequisite—we'll post this info at the top of each event.
4. Have an idea for a workshop? Let us know!

Discover what the Media Factory TV studio has for you! Meet the tools that you can use as a Media Factory member to make your television dreams a reality in Media Factory's fully equipped television studio.
Go through the process of setting up a studio show and conducting interviews while switching between cameras and utilizing chromakeyed backgrounds to give you a professional studio set!
What you can do in the TV studio:
- Setting up and switching shots between three cameras;
- Creating and manipulating graphics;
- Keying-in backgrounds;
- Rolling in videos, images, and music from the Internet or other external sources;
- Operating the studio cameras, tripods/dollies, and microphones;
- Using the intercom system to talk to your camera operators;
- Controlling the studio lighting;
- Micing talent and operating the audio mixer.RSVPs are required for this workshop as we have limited equipment available.

Media Factory Orientation is your first step to becoming a Media Factory member and gaining access to our professional equipment, facilities, and more. During this FREE in-person session, you’ll tour the Media Factory, learn about our policies, and explore the exciting ways you can create and share media. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, we’re here to support you every step of the way on your journey. Our orientations are a great opportunity to meet other new members and start collaborating on projects.
Membership is FREE and unlocks the following benefits:
• Opportunities to create content for local TV (watch here) and host a show on 99.3 FM WBTV-LP Radio. (listen here).
• Access to high-end professional field equipment and other items to enhance your production, as well as use of our 3-camera TV studio, radio station, voiceover booth, and high-end editing suites. (view inventory).
• One-on-one help from our experienced on-duty staff on any aspect of video production.How to Become a Member:
• Check Service Area: Confirm you live, work, or study in our service area (check here).
• Attend an Orientation: Offered at the Media Factory on the first and third Saturday of each month at 1 PM. (find us).
• Bring a Photo ID: We will scan and keep it on file.
Membership is for individuals 18 and older. Those under 18 must have a parent, guardian, or teacher become the member and check out equipment on their behalf.
