Minji published Trapped Marionettes, her debut novel, earlier this year at age 14. She is a young SFF writer living in Valencia with her multilingual family and her nine adopted cats.

About the Book

Amber, a young girl struggling to process her parents’ divorce, a recent move, and her emotionally absent mother, exists at the edge of reality. When she slips through a portal from her small coastal town, she finds herself in the Cats’ world, an impossible place where nothing is quite as it seems. The Cats need her to save their island from impending doom. Fail, and she might be trapped in their nonsensical world forever.

Alongside a wacky Cat companion, Amber embarks on a surreal journey — one that pulls her deeper into the dizzying, addictive allure of Halfmoon’s inventions and the Cats’ chaos. The further she travels, the more reality, and Amber herself, begin to unravel.
