A Summer Evening with Buckeye by Patrick Ryan
Twisted Olive, 51 West Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA, USHOW MUCH OF WHO WE BECOME IS SHAPED BY WHERE WE COME FROM?
August's read: Buckeye, Patrick Ryan's coming-of-age novel. In it, Ryan explores family, friendship, identity, and the lasting influence of the place we call home. An emotionally sweeping novel, Buckeye is set against the backdrop of suburban Ohio and follows the characters as they navigate first loves, family expectations, and the search for where they truly belong.
Through warmth, humor, and deep emotion, Buckeye is a novel about growing up, finding your voice, and discovering that the journey to understanding yourself is rarely a straight path. The story reminds us how our past shapes us, while also asking if we're brave enough to take control of our own destiny.
This month, we're dining at the Twisted Olive in Bethlehem. We'll meet on Thursday, August 27, at 6:30.
Please join us as we discuss this book and answer the question: If you could revisit one season of your youth with the wisdom you have today, would you change anything- or would you let it unfold exactly as it did?
I can't wait to hear everyone's perspectives and spend another wonderful evening enjoying some meaningful conversations.
