Beginners level Volleyball, Kickball & Soccer social group

This will be non-competitive beginners level sand volleyball. We will pick teams randomly. Come join the fun
The sand courts are located outside at the back of the church campus outside of the student building.
At a recent volleyball event, one of the Organizers Fran was hit in the face by a hard spike from a member that caused serious eye injury to Fran requiring medical attention and trip to ER as well as multiple hospital visits. Her eye injury could also lead to retina detachment which causes blindness. This member also hit another player earlier that same evening. The member who hit her has been removed and banned from the group. He was warned by Fran several times before not to spike the ball so hard directly at other players. This is a beginners volleyball group. It is intended for people to have a fun social volleyball outing and not to get spiked in the face. This is not professional volleyball or rugby group.
Going forward, all members must abide by the rules below. Anyone that does not follow the rules will be removed from the group.

1. Do not spike the ball directly at another player. If you want to score that badly even at the cost of injuring another player, this is not the group for you.
2. Make every attempt to not run into other players and respect your teammates’ space. Some players have been hitting balls that are clearly in the space of their teammates. When you do this you can hurt someone. I recommend saying “I got it” so that your teammate can back off.
3. Don’t touch the net! If you touch the net there’s a good chance you will make contact with someone on the other team and could step on their feet or knee them.
4. In between games, do not practice spiking the ball when other people are waiting on the sidelines talking. This is not safe!

The Cost is $2 per person to play, give to me or put in the little black box labeled MEETUP VOLLEYBALL. CASH only and bring exact change.

Please do not show up and play if you are not on the confirmed attendees list. Being on the waitlist does not count as being on the confirmed attendee list. If you end up on the waitlist, please attend a future event instead. You will be asked to leave if you are not on the attendee list. Thank you for your cooperation.

This is a meet & greet social Game night event. I will be bringing cards against humanity and giant UNO.
PLEASE BRING SOME OF YOUR OWN GAMES TO SHARE!
I will taking my games and going home at 8:30pm. You can stay longer if you like. Feel free to come and go when you like. You don’t have to be there the entire duration.

Please note this is the Kirby Ice House in the Woodlands.
NO outside beverages are allowed in but you can bring in outside food. There is a food vendor onsite as well as several restaurants close to the venue.

Everyone will be on separate checks so make sure you pay for what you order.

Multi meetup event with Discovering Houston and Exploring Houston. We will have very large attendance for this so get there early to get good seating.
